While some people involved in the DCEU have been discouraged by the divisive movies, Jesse Eisenberg remains hopeful and is even looking forward to playing Lex Luthor again in future movies. Debuting in 2016's Justice League stingers.

In an effort to course correct Warner Bros. struggling superhero franchise, there have been huge personnel changes at DC Films in the last few months.  long-delayed Time Warner and AT&T merger, loyal followers of the film series definitely need something good to look forward to.

In an interview with Variety, Eisenberg is still interested in playing Luthor for the DCEU saying that he's had a good time bringing the supervillain to life on the big screen. That said,  he its that he doesn't know the current status of the Warner Bros. superhero franchise.

"I hope so. I mean, I have no idea is the truth. I love playing the character. Probably in of movie acting, it’s the most enjoyable character I’ve had the opportunity to play. So I would love to do it again. But I don’t know what their slate is. If you have any pull, please use it."

Eisenberg's take on the memorable Superman villain in BVS proved to be quite divisive with fans, but reuniting with him at the end of Justice League looking more refined and sporting the iconic bald look of the big bad may have tamed people's opinion of him as the character a bit. If anything, the mid-credits tag that also introducedMan of Steel 2, provided he's able to temper some of the over-the-top qualities many found obnoxious about him before.

Nothing is set in stone for the DCEU slate right now outside of the three films that have already nabbed release dates and are in various stages of production: Kristen Wiig will indeed play the film's antagonist, Cheetah. The highly anticipated sequel is set to start filming this May.

Green Lantern Corps. are also reportedly in active development. It remains to be seen which of these films will see Eisenberg's Luthor make his return, if any.
