Netflix's The Defenders Saga. Jessica had great chemistry with Luke Cage and Daredevil, and the character's ties to She-Hulk and others in the comics make her MCU return full of possibilities.

So far, Marvel Studios has yet to bring back Ritter's version of Jessica Jones. When it comes to stars who headlined Netflix Marvel shows, Charlie Cox returned as Matt Murdock in 2021 and is set to lead his own Marvel Studios series this March. Daredevil: Born Again's cast features another star who led a series in The Defenders Saga, as Jon Bernthal will return as the Punisher. Before the new Daredevil show arrived, Marvel weighed bringing back Jessica Jones in another 2025 project set in the MCU's multiverse, but the studio ended up choosing not to, and that was great.

She Almost Returned In Marvel Studios' First Spider-Man Series

While Tom Holland does not return to voice Peter Parker, Marvel Studios is currently airing season 1 of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. The studio's first Spider-Man series features some MCU references and makes slight changes to events from the cinematic Peter Parker's life. However, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man takes place in an alternate universe, not serving as the origin story of Holland's Spider-Man. Due to that, Marvel considered using some characters in creative ways, which almost included Jessica Jones being de-aged to fit the role of Peter's best friend in high school.

In the MCU, Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones is notably older than Tom Holland's Peter Parker. However, Jessica and Peter were classmates in the comics, which the show was trying to go for. Speaking with ComicBook, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man showrunner Jeff Trammell revealed there was "a lot of conversation about de-aging Jessica Jones." In the end, Marvel went for Nico Minoru for the role, which was for the best. Nico bounces off Peter quite well, and with Charlie Cox voicing an adult Daredevil in the show, having a teenager Jessica Jones would have been weird.

While seeing Jessica Jones in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man would have been exciting for fans who have been missing the character since Jessica Jones season 3 was released in 2015, there is a better return for the hero a decade later. Daredevil: Born Again will see many characters from the original Daredevil Netflix series come back. Adding to that, Charlie Cox confirmed there would be cameos in Daredevil: Born Again. After Krysten Ritter shared multiple Jessica Jones return teases over the past couple of years, the character making a finale cameo to set up a bigger role would be thrilling.
