The with a cast packed with action heroes. Though it was originally intended to film back-to-back with John Wick: Chapter 5, the COVID-19 pandemic prevented that - but some early planning could still be done at this stage.
As the John Wick franchise has shown more and more of the world occupied by Keanu Reeves' assassin anti-hero, one thing that's been emphasized is how international the assassin underworld and the Continental hotel really is. the assassin society overseen by the High Table that much clearer.
The John Wick franchise going to India could continue the series' portrayal of the assassin subculture as one that knows no borders. No other modern action movie series has done a better job of incorporating a wide array of different martial arts disciplines into its action sequences than the John Wick movies. Combined with the franchise's use of gun fu, the martial arts depicted in the John Wick franchise are the best around, and going to India could bring a new martial arts form into the series by way of the indigenous martial art of India's state of Kerala, Kalaripayattu.
Though it's been showcased in Bollywood action movies, Kalaripayattu has virtually never been seen in Western action films before. For the purposes of John Wick specifically, Kalaripayattu is also closely associated with an assortment of weapons, including the dagger known as the katar and numerous different kinds of swords. John Wick 3 notably had John's opponents utilize different kinds of Japanese and Indonesian weapons, so the franchise bringing Kalaripayattu and its related weaponry into the action would continue to keep its fight scenes as fresh as they've always been.
There's also the obvious benefit of a John Wick movie wholly or partially set in India being able to bring aboard some local Bollywood action stars. One particularly strong candidate would be Vidyut Jammwal, well-known for the Commando series and other action movies like Sanak, with Jammwal also being a life-long Kalaripayattu exponent. An equally strong Bollywood star for the John Wick movies would be Tiger Shroff of the Baaghi series, with the first installment seeing him train in Kalaripayattu for the film's action scenes in the vein of The Raid: Redemption. With the John Wick franchise having such a knack for constant re-invention, going to India could be a real adventure for Baba Yaga, especially with the possibility of Kalaripayattu getting a grand Hollywood showcase with some local action stars who know it well.
