The DC Comics since 1940 and has climbed his way up the ladder of villainy. Joker: Last Laugh #5 reveals the potential truth for how he has managed to make this happen. He may not have traditional superpowers, but he isn't afraid to cut some deals others would shy away from.

The comic storyline, "Joker's Last Laugh" reveals what would happen if Joker was told he was going to die. A practical joke from one of his doctors results in the villain believing he has a brain tumor. This leads DC’s Clown Prince of Crime to go on a global crime spree after breaking out of the Slab – one of the many prisons in this comic universe. It also reveals Joker's bucket list.

Joker: Last Laugh #5 has the creative team of Chuck Dixon, Scott Beatty, Ron Randall, Gina Going, Digital Chameleon, and Willie Schubert. In this comic, Joker has a lot of work to get done and many schemes to pull off. However, one odd to-do item is visiting the Vatican. While it is unknown if Joker actually makes the trip or not, his reason for going reveals a stunning twist. The iconic villain may have sold his soul to Neron.

Joker's to-do list includes checking on the status of his soul being sold to Neron

Neron is known for making deals with many people. He buys souls in exchange for their desires. He has crossed paths with Midnighter and Apollo, as well as Constantine. However, he may also have made a pact with one of DC's most famous villains. Joker is often seen as a largely one man show. He creates wild schemes and frequently ditches his henchmen or his former girlfriend to make his escapes. Yet he may not have actually carved his way to the top through his standard villainous actions as fans may have believed. This to-do list suggests that Joker sold his soul to Neron and has since reaped the benefits of the deal.

The Hell demon doesn't make an appearance within this series and confirmation is never given about what the of Joker's deal would have been. It is rather clear that if this deal WAS made, it did not immediately involve Batman's demise. After all, if that were the case, Batman could have been done for already. Joker often prefers to engage in a dance with his nemesis, pushing his buttons and creating torment for his foe. It would seem matching the World's Greatest Detective might just be tempting enough to convince him to take a deal. There doesn't seem to be much Joker could do about it at this point, but this would certainly explain how he has gotten as far as he has throughout his evil career.
