Jonathan Majors' issues are worsening as more alleged abuse victims are coming forward. In the middle of the actor's meteoric rise following roles in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Creed 3, Majors was arrested in New York for the alleged assault of a woman. Though Majors' lawyers have maintained his innocence ahead of his court appearance for domestic violence charges, several parties and projects have already decided to cut ties with the embattled actor.
Now, a new report indicates a major turn in the developing situation. According to Variety, more alleged abuse victims of Majors have come forward following his arrest and are actively cooperating with the Manhattan district attorney’s office. While there are no details on the victims or their allegations, the possibility of more women coming forward would mark a momentous turn in the case. Majors' attorney, Priya Chaudhry, said in a statement:
“Jonathan Majors is innocent and has not abused anyone. We have provided irrefutable evidence to the District Attorney that the charges are false. We are confident that he will be fully exonerated.”
Everything We Know About Jonathan Majors' Arrest
On March 25, Majors was arrested in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan on charges of strangulation, assault, and harassment involving a 30-year-old woman, who was taken to the hospital after sustaining "minor injuries to her head and neck," according to an NYPD spokesperson. Chaudhry maintains that Majors "is completely innocent and is provably the victim of an altercation with a woman he knows" and suggested the woman was having “an emotional crisis.” Majors' lawyer claims to have video evidence that will prove the actor innocent. Majors is scheduled to appear in court on May 8.
After the actor was arrested, his publicist, The Lede Company, and his manager, Entertainment 360, both decided to cut ties with him. In addition, Majors has been dropped from multiple projects including the movie The Man in My Basement, a Texas Rangers ad campaign, and an Otis Redding biopic. Now, more alleged abuse victims coming forward marks a dramatic turn in the case and makes it increasingly likely Jonathan Majors will be dropped from more projects, including the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Dennis Rodman movie 48 Hours in Vegas, and Spike Lee's Da Understudy.
