Warning: Contains SPOILERS for The Amazing Spider-Man #68.DEATHS! The member of the main X-Men team. And now, it seems Juggernaut has even outgrown his old name and costume, as he’s finally ready to move on from his villain identity once and for all.
In a preview for The Amazing Spider-Man #68.DEATHS by Christos Gage and Mark Buckingham, the Juggernaut is fighting his fellow X-Men. This may seem like the Juggernaut has slipped back into his villainous ways, when in fact, the opposite is true. Juggernaut is the only X-Man who hasn’t been corrupted by a cosmic evil known as the Blight, making him quite literally the last hero standing on the X-Men.
As Cain Marko fights for his life against his teammates, who are all trying their hardest to kill him, the Juggernaut starts to think about his life. This moment reminds Marko of when he was a villain, as he would pretty regularly fight the entire X-Men solo. But, more than that, it reminds him that he’s not a villain anymore. The Juggernaut feels trapped by the identity of his villainous past, “like an eighty-year-old rock star in leather pants”, and he’s ready to make a change.
Who Will Cain Marko Be Without the Juggernaut?
Marvel Comics Could Turn the Juggernaut Into a Completely New Hero
Cain Marko doesn’t want to be associated with his ‘Juggernaut’ identity anymore, but he still wants to use his powers for good as a hero - X-Men hero or otherwise. But, what does that mean? And, perhaps more importantly, what will that look like? Cain Marko has always been the Juggernaut - from villain, to antihero, to finally full-fledged superhero. So, who will he be without that moniker and costume?
While any guess is as good as any other at this point, this is honestly a perfect opportunity for Marvel Comics to do something new with Cain Marko. If he does give up being the Juggernaut, that means Marko will need a new superhero name and costume. Plus, he doesn’t have to stick around with the X-Men if he doesn’t want to, as the Juggernaut technically isn’t a mutant. The future is wide open for Cain Marko, and fans should be excited to see what will become of him once he leaves his Juggernaut identity behind.
Cain Marko May Not Live Long Enough to Be Free of the Juggernaut
The Juggernaut is Facing a Universe-Ending Threat: The Blight
Cain Marko may wish to start fresh with a new superhero name and costume, and finally leave the Juggernaut moniker behind once and for all, but he may not get the chance. This storyline has introduced a cosmic villain called the Blight, which is powerful enough to throw entire universes into chaos, and strong enough to take down even the deadliest Marvel Comics characters. Indeed, the Blight slaughtered Cyttorak and all his Scions before killing Spider-Man himself. Now, the Blight has taken over the X-Men, and the Juggernaut might not be strong enough to survive this fight.

Juggernaut its the 1 Marvel Weapon That Can Beat Him - Now We Hope No-One Else Figures It Out
The Juggernaut is unstoppable because of the magic that powers him, unless he's attacked with the one weapon that can stop the Unstoppable Juggernaut!
While it’s true that the Juggernaut - and even the entire Marvel Universe - might not survive the Blight, it’s still exciting to consider what will happen after the events of this storyline, especially regarding the Juggernaut. Cain Marko seems like he’s done being the Juggernaut, and only time will tell what kind of hero he’ll be without his villain identity.
