A new trailer for Jurassic World Rebirth sees Zora Bennett (Johansson) lead a covert operations team to extract DNA from the three largest dinosaurs on the planet.
Now, Universal Pictures has dropped the second trailer for Jurassic World Rebirth.
The trailer opens with a team of scientists in hazmat suits, one of whom winds up stuck in the clutches of a dinosaur when some of their studies go wrong. The trailer then cuts to Johansson and Ali arriving at the island, noting that the theme park employees' "experimental work" left only the worst of the dinosaurs behind. This leads to some terrifying circumstances, including the beasts chasing down a family in a raft, and hunting down the scientists. Johansson and her team will attempt to extract DNA while also doing their best to survive.
What This Means For Jurassic World Rebirth
The Trailer Shows More Of The Delgado Family
The beginning of the Jurassic World Rebirth trailer has one of the scariest openings yet. Revealing more about how the researchers on the island went wrong in the past, the first shots hint at a brutal dinosaur death in the past. This intense research causes people to make brash decisions to protect themselves, as the researcher did when she refused to open the door for a fellow scientist. This opening scene could have implications on how dangerous these huge dinosaurs are, which affects the movie as a whole.

Jurassic World Rebirth Is Fixing A Glaring Dinosaur Issue From The Last 3 Movies
Jurassic World Rebirth is thankfully focusing more on horror and making a specific dinosaur species scary again, which fixes a major issue.
While the trailer does show some overlapping footage with the previous look at Rebirth, it focuses on some of the ing characters. Most notably, it provides a closer look at the Delgado family, played by Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Luna Blaise, and Audrina Miranda. The family gets shipwrecked on the island and is thus forced to escape its terrors with fewer resources than a scientist would have. The Delgados are witnessed furiously paddling their inflatable raft away from one dinosaur, in what is sure to be one of many scares.
Our Take On The Jurassic World Rebirth Trailer
The Franchise Film Blends New And Familiar Elements
This trailer is a great example of how Jurassic World Rebirth will both honor the franchise's history and create something new. Setting-wise, scientists are going to the island of the original Jurassic Park, but because of years of subsequent research, they will face new threats. Even the music recalls the past era, borrowing some of the themes from the original John Williams score while still creating something new. This blend of novel and classic elements could really make Jurassic World Rebirth shine as it softly reboots the franchise.
Jurassic World Rebirth's score is composed by Alexandre Desplat, who worked on Harry Potter and won Oscars for The Grand Budapest Hotel and The Shape of Water.
