Just Cause: Mobile's latest showing at Square Enix Presents comes in the form of a cinematic trailer, which offers a closer look at series regulars who will take part in the action. Said action involves single-player and online experiences, all centered around the franchise's trademark grappling, gliding, and shooting mechanics. As a mobile entry, however, players will embark on this new journey in a top-down view. Fans can still expect fully voiced characters and in-game cutscenes, though Rico doesn't take center stage. Instead, a player-created agent will Firebrand, a special division of The Agency. Set across three open-world locales, Just Cause: Mobile features well-known characters from the series; apparently, even Rico Rodriquez will become a person of interest. His involvement, and that of others, stems from the player's need to recruit allies to complete the main mission of stopping a new mercenary group named Darkwater - an outfit comprised of former Black Hand military forces.

A mobile version of Just Cause certainly counts as an interesting route for the franchise. If the developers can replicate the IP's high-octane chaos on mobile devices, fans could be in for quite the unique on-the-go experience. What such a release may mean for Just Cause's future on consoles and PC presently remains a mystery, especially since there are currently no details about a fifth mainline installment.
