Of all the heroes on the Flash is the team's resident jokester, Plastic Man. JLA #1000000 reveals how Eel O'Brian's stretchy frame is more than enough for taking down the Scarlet Speedster.
The Justice League has had a number of odd heroes on its roster, but few as strange as Plastic Man. Once a two-bit criminal, O'Brian changed his life for good after he gained the ability to stretch and contort his body into any shape. Taking on the name Plastic Man, he became the Justice League's unexpected secret weapon, using his particular skills to turn himself into weapons, vehicles, disguises or anything to fit the team's needs. Eel might not be the most traditional hero, but he's proven time and time again that he's dedicated to helping his allies on the League fight for justice.
That said, Plastic Man is willing to go up against any of his comrades, past, present, or future, and it turns out he's quite good at taking on the Flash. In JLA #1000000 by Grant Morrison and Howard Porter, the Justice League finds itself in opposition to their counterparts in the DC One Million crossover. Justice Legion Alpha is dealing with a techno-organic virus that threatens every living thing. Meanwhile, the time-displaced Justice League of America is trying to leave the 853rd century. Unfortunately, the virus has driven the heroes to paranoia and fights break out between the Legion and the League. Huntress and Plastic Man team up to take out the Legion's Flash by luring him into a curiously-colored room which turns out to be Eel's intestines. Plastic Man batters the Flash into submission and also manages to give himself serious indigestion.
How The Justice League's Biggest Joke Can Defeat Flash
Granted, Plas gets a helping hand from the JLA’s Huntress in taking down the Flash, but the Scarlet Speedster of the future really can’t keep up with Eel’s unique power set. Not only does Plastic Man’s body keep Flash trapped in one place, O’Brian can attack him from any direction. It doesn’t matter how fast Flash moves if Plastic Man has every angle covered. If Plas can handle one Flash, there’s little doubt he could defeat the ones from his own century.
The Flashes are no doubt some of the League’s best fighters. Able to zip around the world and traverse multiverses, most heroes in the League would struggle against Barry Allen or Wally West. But all the speed in the world doesn’t matter much if they’re trapped in one location. And if that location is also able to beat up whomever is unfortunate enough to be stuck inside, that’s something else that could put the Scarlet Speedster at a serious disadvantage. The Justice League’s Plastic Man may seem like a goof, but his physiology comes with some surprising applications that could even inhibit the Flash.
