After long speculation and a ionate outcry from fans, Zack Snyder revealed in a Q&A session after a Man of Steel viewing party that theSnyder Cut” actually exists, entitled Zack Snyder’s Justice League to be released in HBO Max on 2021. This announcement had been celebrated by diehard DC fans, industry creators and even the Justice League cast.

It is reasonable to be excited over Snyder’s vision for Justice League coming to fruition after its mixed reception. And his director’s cut could address plot holes from the crossover. Here are the top 10 that need to be answered.

Clark Kent Is Alive?

Snyder Cut_Clark Kent

This problem leads back to Clark Kent ed away covering the story of Doomsday’s attack.

But now that Superman was revived, it also means the Clark returned to working at Daily Planet with no hint of suspicion nor unease from others. Plus, this could lead to assumptions connecting Superman and Clark’s identity.

No Mention Of The Suicide Squad

Snyder Cut_Suicide Squad

Like the previous entry, this problem leads back to a previous DCEU movie – this time in Suicide Squad. After the damage from the Enchantress’ attacks, Bruce Wayne approaches Amanda Waller and agrees to shield her from scrutiny, in exchange of the files about Barry Allen/The Flash and Arthur Curry/Aquaman. Wayne even threatened her to shut down Task Force X.

While that addressed the absence of Suicide Squad, that still does not stop Waller from gauging her unit to stop Steppenwolf. And they’re still out there.

Green Lantern Corps

It is explained by Diana that Steppenwolf had attempted to conquer Earth using three Mother Boxes. However, his plans were repelled by an alliance between Olympian Gods, Amazons, Atlanteans, humanity and intergalactic forces. After his defeat, the Mother Boxes were separated and landed each in the possession of the Amazons, Atlanteans and man.

This was never full-proof since Steppenwolf learned of the Boxes’ locations on Earth. That begs the question: why wasn’t one box in possession of the Green Lantern Corps to not repeat history?

Lex Luthor’s Escape

Snyder Cut_Lex Luthor

In the end of Batman v. Superman, Lex Luthor was imprisoned, and he gave a dire warning to Batman. But at the post-credits stinger, Lex Luthor was somehow set free and is lounging on his yacht as Slade Wilson arrives at his presence, intending to create their “own league”.

It is truly head-scratching that during the course of Justice League, Luthor plotted his escape from Arkham Asylum. The “how” and “why” he escaped Gotham’s most infamous facility is beyond bewildering that it needs an explanation.

Batman’s Trust In Superman

Snyder Cut_Main Three

Having Justice League as the follow-up to Batman v. Superman brought to that the camaraderie between the two DC heroes needed work. Somehow, feeling outnumbered against Steppenwolf, Wayne proposes to use the Mother Box to revive Superman because he “trusts” Clark’s moral com.

Alright, going back to BvS, Bruce Wayne/Batman was opposed to Superman’s intrepidness during the Metropolis attack. And despite learning that they were both deceived by Luthor, they are still in uneven . So, why does Wayne trust on him so much?

The Flash’s Transition As A Hero

Snyder Cut_The Flash

Barry Allen/The Flash seems to accept the hero persona on a whim once Batman brought him in their first mission to seize Gotham Harbor. While one can easily buy a lonesome Allen accepting Wayne’s offer to his team, it is hard to swallow the fact that Flash embraces his superhero identity that fast (see there?) and act cowardly after.

It is also a plot hole on the fact that Allen was able to use his suit for that very occasion without testing it before.

Inconsistency In Superman’s Amnesia

Snyder Cut_Superman

Once Superman was resurrected through the Mother Box, he showed signs of amnesia, given that he does not recognize Wonder Woman and feels threatened by the other league . However, he did recognize Batman and feels threatened by his presence, despite the fact that Batman saved “Martha”.

This begs the question as to what memories were retained when Superman was resurrected, and how he was able to recover from amnesia on time. There should be a throwaway line or a scene in the Snyder Cut.

Aquaman’s First Journey To Atlantis

Snyder-Cut-Aquaman

In the film, Aquaman came at the nick of time when Steppenwolf was about to obtain a Mother Box from the Atlanteans. It was also his first time to arrive in Atlantis and his first time to meet Mera. This begs the question: how was Arthur able to go to Atlantis with no prior knowledge?

Since Aquaman is basing his instincts on the water currents, that could be a plausible explanation. But there could have been a more concrete reason left from the cutting room floor to elaborate Atlantis’ relevance.

Batman’s Bout Against The Parademons

Snyder Cut_Batman vs. Parademons

The Parademons have been criminally relegated to the list of faceless CGI armies in superhero movies. However, they proved themselves to be such a threat that Batman struggled to fight one of them during their Gotham Harbor raid. And yet, during the climax, the Caped Crusader was able to overwhelm the Parademons in the same manner and defeat them.

This glaring plot hole reeks of inconsistent writing. There should be a solid explanation to show that Bruce Wayne developed a stronger armor or fighting technique to fend off Steppenwolf’s army.

Cyborg’s Origin Story

Snyder Cut_Cyborg

Zack Snyder described that in his original vision, Cyborg reveals that the Mother Box was acquired by Dr. Silas Stone from the British. It was shelved but reignited on the night Superman died, labeling it as an energy source.

When piecing it against Batman v. Superman, this comes off as inconsistent since it was clear that the Mother Box provided Cyborg’s cybernetic half. The Snyder Cut should clear this glaring mistake.
