Warner Bros. confirms they have no plans to release a Zack Snyder cut of Snyder continued working on Justice League, but left the project after principal photography had wrapped, but before reshoots had begun.

Warner Bros. hired director whether a Snyder cut even exists, and in what form if it did. Now, however, Warner Bros. confirms fans likely won't see a Snyder cut of Justice League.

Additionally, an unnamed source who's described as someone close to Justice League, lamented about the fans who are calling for "the magical Snyder cut that doesn’t exist." Certainly, the debate around whether there even is a Snyder cut has been a key part of the larger movement. According to reports, Snyder had an early cut of the film that he put together using only footage from principal photography - and rumored reactions to it called this cut of Justice League "unwatchable." However, the cut of a film made that early in the editing process is not meant for public consumption, and would likely never be released.

So, when one of WSJ's sources says the Snyder cut doesn't exist, they likely mean a version of the film that's finished and intended to be viewed. That lines up with what we previously knew about the director's cut, though there have been rumors Snyder is working on his Justice League cut without Warner Bros. Still, even if he continued working on a project he officially left over a year ago, he'd need permission from the studio to release it. As such, it's unlikely a Snyder cut will be released unless Warner Bros. is on board.

Now that the studio has officially shot down the possibility of releasing the Snyder cut of Justice League, and confirms they have no plans to announce such a thing at Comic-Con, it seems much less likely it'll ever come to fruition. Whether fans give up the campaign for a Snyder cut remains to be seen, but Warner Bros. seems to be moving on from Justice League and looking to their DC movies - including Aquaman, Shazam! and Wonder Woman 1984.
