One of the Kang the Conqueror, has a very unique weapon, an Android called the Growing Man. In fact, this weapon is so perfect for fighting the Avengers that it takes their biggest flaw and uses it to grow stronger.

Kang the Conqueror is a time-traveling villain who seeks to face off against any foe that may challenge him. This repeatedly means the Avengers, as they are Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Kang has killed Avengers such as Swordsman without remorse or hesitation, meaning he's a top-tier threat. Early on in their career, the Avengers had to face off against Kang and his android, the Growing Man, which was built by an extra-dimensional race called the Kosmosians. They faced him both individually and as a team, both of which periodically caused problems for the heroes.

First appearing in 1967's Thor #140 and created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, the Growing Man has a very particular ability that makes him difficult to defeat. He absorbs most forms of kinetic energy, meaning the more damage he takes the bigger and stronger he gets. The thing about the Avengers being Earth's Mightiest Heroes is that they draw some of the biggest hitters of the superhero universe. The problem with that is they tend to strike first and think later. Heroes like Thor, Hercules, and even Iron Man jump in headfirst to attack rather than assess the situation. When an Avenger has done as much good as Thor, it's easy to ignore his many problems.

Thor and Growing Man

The ironic part about this situation is that the Growing Man would technically be useless if its foes failed to face it. All the Avengers have to do is sit back and think things through first rather than lash out. Understandably, sometimes this is difficult as innocent lives stand in the way. Also, some of these strong Avengers have grown a habit of merely punching their way out of problems. When they do this so often it must be difficult for them to approach a situation in a different manner. This might be why Captain America could be considered the greatest Avenger. Cap's strength, speed, and agility as a physical Avenger are not in question. But he also contains a tactical mind unlike that of his teammates. Tony Stark might be a brilliant inventor, but as a strategist, he doesn't hold a candle to Captain America. At the end of the day, Captain America will always be the Avengers' greatest leader.

Despite the team's squabbles, readers can only hope that the Avengers would listen to Captain America more and follow his lead when facing Kang the Conqueror and his Growing Man rather than jump into the fray with guns blazing.
