The villains' battle for supremacy finds them enlisting the symbiotes Flexo and Rascal, respectively, to fight for them, as part of the larger ongoing Venom War event. The Fantastic Four may not have much history with Venom - beyond helping Spider-Man capture the symbiote way back when - but when both Doctor Doom and Kang the Conqueror start getting involved in the war... now we've got the FF's attention! It's a wild battle of mad geniuses that spans thousands of years and also the space of a breath - with stakes that only the Fantastic Four could fathom! |
Doom and Kang waging a secret war over thousands of years should make for an interesting one-shot, as the two villains using the symbiotes Flexo and Rascal in a kind of chess game through the ages. Flexo was a Golden Age hero who has been retconned into being a symbiote, found by the brothers Joel and Joshua Williams, who sculpted it into a crime-fighting robot. Conversely, Rascal spawned from the symbiote Bedlam, who was sent to the early 21st century by Kang. Once there, he bonded with Norman Osborn’s grandson Normie, becoming the latest version of the Red Goblin.
The concept of the two villains waging a war in secret across the timeline would be very fitting for the MCU.
This is a great way Doom will take Kang’s place as the big bad of the MCU ahead of Avengers’ sequels Doomsday and Secret Wars. Even without symbiotes involved, the concept of the two villains waging a war in secret across the timeline would be very fitting for the MCU. It could make for an exciting plot to follow in a movie, especially if Doom and Kang were using MCU characters throughout history to wage their own proxy war.

Whether or not it provides a look into how the MCU will deal with Doctor Doom and Kang the Conqueror, Venom War: Fantastic Four #1 will be a must-read for Marvel Comics fans looking to keep up with the symbiotes.
