If you have seen the Kesimpta commercials, you may have recognized the actress who stars in one of them. Kesimpta is the brand name of Ofatumamab, which is a prescription medicine used to treat adult patients who are experiencing relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis (MS), such as clinically isolated syndrome (CIS), and other secondary diseases (via Kesimpta). MS is an autoimmune disease that results in damage to the brain and spinal cord, and can result in numbness, weakness, difficulty walking, vision changes, and more (via MayoClinic).

There are varying levels of MS. Some people completely lose their ability to walk, while others have long periods in between symptoms. There's no cure for the disease, but treatments like Kesimpta may help speed recovery and manage symptoms. Kesimpta has several ments on its YouTube channel that would be at home on any drug ment homepage. The ments start with someone introducing themselves and explaining their lives with MS, and then going on to say how Kesimpta has helped them.

Sigler is later seen speaking into a microphone on her podcast, Not Today, Pal, and also playing air hockey with what is presumably her family. The commercial semi-depends upon you knowing who Sigler is, which is why it gives her name immediately.

Sigler first learned she had relapsing MS in 2002, but she was afraid to talk about it for 15 years (via Today). Now, she is very open about her diagnosis, even starting a podcast in 2024 with Christina Applegate called MeSsy. Applegate (who also has MS) and Sigler have vulnerable conversations with each other and guests about "the messiness of life." Now Sigler has set boundaries for herself,

"The adjustments that I make, whether that's on set and asking for a chair to rest in between takes or scenes or parking my trailer a little closer to set."

It's clear that talking about her diagnosis has helped overcome some of the fears she had about MS.
