Here's a guide to every Kevin Costner movie available on Netflix. Costner was one of the biggest movie stars of the late '80s and '90s, where he was able to jump from acclaimed dramas to crowd-pleasing blockbusters with ease. In the '90s alone, he starred in back-to-back hits such as Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves, The Bodyguard, JFK and his directorial debut Dances With Wolves. Sadly, the perception of 1995's Waterworld - which suffered through an infamously tense production - as a box-office bomb damaged his career.
Of course, box-office grosses aren't - and never should be - the sole measure of success, and he has had plenty of successes in the years after Waterworld. While the likes of Open Range and 13 Days were within his wheelhouse, during the 2000s he took on more risky, villainous turns in movies like 3000 Miles To Graceland and Mr. Brooks. In the last decade, he's played more mentor characters like Man Of Steel, but the hit series Yellowstone has really put him back on the map.
The show has also brought the veteran star many new fans who might like to revisit his past work. Here's a guide to the Kevin Costner movies currently on Netflix.
Every Kevin Costner Netflix Movie
Wyatt Earp (1994)
The first Kevin Costner Netflix movie is Wyatt Earp, his 1994 biopic about the legendary lawman. This Western epic has an incredible cast - including Gene Hackman and Dennis Quaid - but its long runtime and sluggish pacing made it less enjoyable than rival Earp movie Tombstone, starring Kurt Russell. Still, for Costner fans, Wyatt Earp is required viewing.
Rumor Has It (2005)
On the surface, Rumor Has It has a lot in its favor. It stars Jennifer Aniston, Shirley MacLaine and Mark Ruffalo, and the premise sees Aniston's character learning her grandmother may have served as the inspiration for The Graduate. Despite this, director Rob Reiner never gets to grips with Rumor Has It's comic potential and is one of Costner's more forgettable films as a result.
Molly's Game (2017)
Molly's Game was based on Bloom's memoir, with Jessica Chastain receiving praise for her performance in the title role. The movie also co-stars Idris Elba and Kevin Costner as Larry Bloom, Molly's psychologist father who pushed her into training as an Olympic skier before she turned to poker.
The Highwaymen (2019)
The final Kevin Costner movie on Netflix is exclusive to the streaming service. The Highwaymen is based on the true-life story of the Texas Rangers who chased after Bonnie and Clyde. The project had once been earmarked as a reunion for Paul Newman and Robert Redford, but Costner and Woody Harrelson finally took on the project, which received mostly good reviews followings its debut.
