Warning! Spoilers ahead for King in Black #1 from Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman
In the latest issue of Marvel Comics' King in Black, Knull the Symbiote God has finally come to Earth and has successfully invaded the planet. Seemingly succeeding in taking over the world after just one battle, Knull has killed and/or beaten several major Marvel heroes, indicating a hard road ahead for any heroes still left standing hoping to retake the world (if that's even possible). Here are all the heroes the King in Black has taken out so far.
Despite the Marvel heroes being more prepared than they've ever been for an incoming invasion from space, Knull cleared their defenses and countermeasures effortlessly, as their power meaning nothing in comparison to his own. Not only did Knull unleash legions of dragons to make landfall and cover the world with his bonding symbiote matter in this issue, but he also reveals that he has several god-like Celestials under his command as well. Even with the combined forces of the Avengers, X-Men, and the entirety of New York's heroes, nothing could stop his onslaught. By the end of the issue, several heroes are seemingly out for the count, starting with one of their heaviest hitters.
The losses begin with none other than The Sentry, who was supposed to be the big gun meant to take Knull out, or so Captain America and the other heroes thought. The King in Black ripped the powerful Sentry in two as if he were made of paper, brutally murdering him right before the assembled heroes' eyes. He also took control of all the symbiote matter that had covered the globe, quickly overtaking and drowning many of the heroes with his power before covering the whole world in a massive symbiote dome.
In total, the heroes beaten by Knull in this manner include Captain America, Daredevil, Luke Cage, Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, Iron Fist, The Thing, Wolverine, and Jean Grey. However, those were just the ones seen on the page. There were many other heroes fighting in New York, and several of them could have very well been lost too. Thankfully, it looks as though Spider-Man managed to escape, hoping to find any other heroes still standing like Iron Man (or the noticeably absent Thor).
However, Knull wasn't finished. Even after taking out all of the heroes listed above, his symbiotes also consumed Storm in the following pages, and the final hero to be beaten was Venom himself. In a last-ditch attempt of desperation with no other options, the Lethal Protector tried to fight Knull head-on, though the Symbiote God merely ripped Eddie Brock's symbiote off of his body before throwing him off the side of a skyscraper at the issue's end, prepared to go after Venom's powerful son next. All-in-all, the power of Knull seems near limitless, and obviously nothing the heroes of the Marvel Universe have encountered before. Here's hoping they find a last-second miracle to defeat him as King in Black continues from Marvel Comics.
