direct sequel to the first Kingdom Come game, the second continues Henry's journey exactly where it left off, as he faces the forces of Holy Roman Emperor Sigismund in a chaotic civil war. Praised for its historical accuracy, role-playing depth, and pervasive realism, the Kingdom Come duology is beloved by fans for its immersive and fully realized world.
But exactly how big is that world? Both Kingdom Come games are based on a real place in history, the Kingdom of Bohemia. That means real geography, even if it does take some creative liberties. But just how big those creative liberties are, and how they actually impact the size of the game, isn't immediately clear from its opening moments.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2’s Map Is Bigger Than The Original
Roughly Double The Size
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has a map that's about twice the size of the first game's, when all parts of each map are considered as a whole. The first game's map took up roughly six real-world square miles (16 square kilometers), which means this one's about 12 square miles (32 square kilometers). However, Kingdom Come 2's map is a lot denser than the original game's overall, especially in the second half, so players can expect to find a lot more to do within a larger space.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Can't Ignore One Critical Part Of Henry's Story
Henry's relationship with his father is a crucial part of Kingdom Come: Deliverance's narrative that needs to be addressed in the sequel.
It's not the largest open-world RPG map by far; a lot less frustrating in Kingdom Come 2, players are still encouraged to take their time exploring, which makes the map feel significantly bigger.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Doesn’t Stick To One Area
Kingdom Come 2 Has Two Maps
In another departure from the original game, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 actually has two maps: the more rural, pastoral Trosky, and the more bustling, urban Kuttenberg. Players start out in Trosky, and, after a pivotal moment in the game, are transported to Kuttenberg, and can begin exploring an entirely different map. Each map is roughly the size of the original game's, making Kingdom Come 2's overall area roughly double the size.
It's possible to fast travel between the two regions by hiring a caravan.
The two maps are very different in character, if not in size. Trosky is far more pastoral, with only one medium-sized town surrounded by a smattering of scattered settlements. Kuttenberg is centered on the large medieval city of the same name, full of bustle, and with several other, relatively large villages. Still, that's not to say players will be starved for content in Trosky; there's plenty to do on both halves of the map.
That's just about everything there is to know regarding Kingdom Come 2's map. To put it simply, the sequel manages to be significantly bigger than the original game, without resorting to unnecessary bloating or large empty spaces. The rest, players will have to discover for themselves in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
