The historical RPG Kingdom Come: Deliverance offers upgrades within your progression through Perks, or special modifications that alter how you play. The complex leveling system and deep medieval mechanics can make it hard to tell which Perks are the best and which ones are the worst. Some seemingly useless abilities may have a purpose, but it's often hard to tell if you're just starting your adventure.
The main character, Henry, grows stronger by training at different jobs or skills until he becomes better at them. Repetition of various tasks helps them get better, earning you ive benefits and Perk Points every so often as levels in a specific task grow. You can spend Perk Points on extra skills that can enhance or modify your experience, from combat to alchemy in Kingdom Come: Deliverance.
Some Perks are so good that they completely take away from the immersive elements of the game, ruining the risk behind certain systems. For example, the Human Dustbin Perk removes Henry's fear of eating spoiled food.

The Best Utility Perks
Get These Special Buffs Early
These best Kingdom Come: Deliverance perks are widely applicable and are the ones you should consider getting as soon as you can:
Perk |
Description |
Reason(s) To Get Perk Early |
---|---|---|
Mule |
Henry can carry 15 pounds more at all times. |
Allows you to gather more loot before having to sell it off. This also lets you equip heavier armor later in the game. |
Lasting Lockpicks |
Lockpicks are more durable, lasting twice as long. |
This makes lockpicking mini-games a lot more forgiving, allowing for more mistakes before a lockpick breaks. |
Luck of the Drunk |
Makes it 30% easier but 30% noiser to open locks while drunk. |
Surprisingly, this Perk is much better than it appears, allowing Henry to lower the difficulty of any lock he attempts to open. This gives you a chance to open the hardest locks in Kingdom Come: Deliverance from very early in the game. |
Troubadour |
50% higher Reputation when you talk to women. Henry can also avail of bathhouse services for free. |
The extra Reputation when talking to women is the strongest trait of this Perk, but having free access to Bathhouses is also very good in early stages of your journey. |
Friendly Neighbour |
If anyone who likes you even a little catches you pickpocketing, they won't call the guard. |
Gives you a chance to fail pickpocketing without consequences, which can be great due to the unpredictable nature of this aspect of the game. |
Magistrate |
Get a +1 Speech bonus when trying to persuade a guard. |
Allows Henry to talk their way out of trouble if they get captured or confronted by a guard. |
The Best Combat Perks
Fight Against All Odds With The Right Upgrades
Almost all of Kingdom Come's best combat perks are worth getting at some point in the game, but the ones you want to get first may be hard to determine when you don't know what enemies Henry will be facing.
Perk |
Description |
Reason(s) To Get Perk Early |
---|---|---|
Clinch Master |
Henry has a 1/3rd higher chance of overpowering his opponent in a clinch. |
Clinch occurs when you walk into an enemy during a fight, where both parties grapple against one another. Winning this interaction gives a free hit, so improving the odds prevents Henry from getting hurt and gives you an advantage. |
Against All Odds |
Gives you 20% greater Strength, Agility, Warfare, and Defense in fights where you are outnumbered. |
Most of the fights in the game have you outnumbered. Therefore, this Perk is great to help you deal with the many enemies you'll come to face. |
Tight Grip |
Stamina Regeneration does not slow down in combat, even on a weapon's backswing. |
All attack costs for Henry go down dramatically, giving you a faster refilling pool of Stamina. This allows you to perform more blocks in Kingdom Come: Deliverance when you are on the defensive. |
Revenant |
Health regenerates gradually during a fight. |
Potions take minutes to work and Henry doesn't heal automatically, so having a way to constantly restore health can be crucial when you don't have much health, can't find a bed, or run out of healing potions. |
Stronghold |
Requires 2 Perk Points. Reduces Stamina consumption by 30%. |
Similar to the Tight Grip Perk, this buff lets you block more and conserve Stamina. |
Firm Grip |
Requires 4 Perk Points. Causes enemies to lose 15% more Stamina each time they block Henry's attacks with a shield. |
Helps to overwhelm nearly every enemy you face during the early parts of the game, where foes don't have much Stamina to begin with. |
The Revenant Perk only speeds up your Health regeneration while you sleep in Hardcore Mode, so only get this Perk when you are playing on a lower difficulty.

Thanks to a "happy mistake," Warhorse's sister studio Saber Interactive is hard at work on bringing Kingdom Come: Deliverance to Nintendo Switch.
The Best Enjoyable Perks
Improve Your Favorite Attributes
As you unlock new interactions in Kingdom Come: Deliverance, many Perks may only be useful for whatever build you made for Henry. As you can see in the above video by YouTube creator Upper Echelon, the best parts of your character are sometimes determined by your preferences. The playstyle of an individual player greatly impacts what Perks are going to be the most fun to use in the early stages of the game.
Perk |
Description |
Reason(s) To Get Perk Early |
---|---|---|
Stealth Kill |
Allows you to kill from stealth when you have a dagger. |
Gives Henry a way to kill enemies without starting combat, with a dagger only needed in your inventory instead of it being equipped. |
First Aid |
Bandages are 25% more effective. Healing skills can also be applied in dialogues. |
The early stages of the game are the times when you have the least bandages, so improving them can help stave off Bleeding better at the start. This also gives Henry more dialogue options, unlocking new routes on various quests. |
Tanner |
Henry can now skin dead animals. |
This historical lesson of Kingdome Come: Deliverance unlocks a system that can help complete many quests you couldn't finish before. Keep in mind that skins degrade over time and should be delivered quickly. |
Witcher |
Requires 3 Perk Points. Reduces the negative effects of alcohol. |
Prevents you from becoming too addicted to alcohol and various potions you may have to drink in excessive amounts to heal Henry. |
Easy Way Out |
Speeds up time when Henry examines an NPC's inventory. |
Reduces the chances of you being caught while pickpocketing and increases the number of items you can steal during the altered time. |
The Best "Choice" Perks
Make A Decision For Different Bonuses
Many of the best perks in Kingdom Come: Deliverance have tradeoffs or force you to choose between two variants. In some cases, there is a clear winner and in others, it is a toss-up.
Perks |
Descriptions |
Best Option |
Reason(s) To Get Perk |
---|---|---|---|
Highborn/Lowborn |
|
Highborn |
Although you spend the majority of the game dealing with commoners, the most difficult speech checks will most often occur with nobility. Therefore, although "Lowborn" might be used more often, "Highborn" may help Henry when he needs it the most. |
Sprinter/Marathon Man |
|
Sprinter |
Even though "Marathon Man" might seem appealing to cover long distances before Henry gets a horse, "Sprinter" is still better as it can cover the same distance, faster. |
Savage/Burgher |
|
Both Options |
The bonus to "Speech" is very worthwhile around cities, where most NPCs are located, but it is in the wilds where most of the fighting will take place. Therefore, anyone focusing on speech checks should most likely choose "Burgher" and players aiming to become better in combat benefit the most from "Savage". |
Racehorse/Heavy Duty Pony |
|
Heavy Duty Pony |
While "Racehorse" might be better on higher difficulties, "Heavy Duty Pony" allows you to carry more loot, giving you a way to make money fast in Kingdom Come: Deliverance. |
The Worst Perks To Get Early
Don't Ever Choose These Effects
The worst Perks in Kingdom Come: Deliverance do not have bad effects, but rather those that are misleading. You might be tricked into wasting valuable Perk Points by spending them on some of these options, so make sure to think about when effects that sound good may be useful. Doing this could help you realize how little you might use a seemingly powerful bonus from a specific Perk.
Perk |
Description |
Reason(s) To Not Get |
---|---|---|
Boar |
Deplete an opponent's Health and Stamina by bumping into them while Sprinting. This effect increases if your armor is heavier than theirs. |
This effect is often unreliable and rarely works as it is described. |
Sixth Sense |
Your sixth sense will warn you if someone is going to catch you in the middle of pickpocketing, giving you more time to escape. |
This Perk just alerts Henry that he has been spotted pickpocketing. This does give you more time to escape, but it doesn't prevent you from being caught and rather gives you a couple of seconds to leave a crime scene. |
Four-Hit Combos |
Weapons now have combos that require four hits to trigger. |
Long combos are much easier to break by enemies who can skillfully parry or riposte to instantly break the string of attacks. |
Drinking Habit |
Under the influence of alcohol, your hand will shake 25% less and your Bow skill is higher by +2. |
When sober, your hand shakes 25% more. Maintaining the balance of drunkenness for this bonus can be very difficult, especially if you are trying to do complex tasks while under the influence. |
Dreadful |
Foes will more likely flee from combat with you. The ones who do fight will be less determined. |
Enemies that flee can't be looted and chasing them down can be quite a hustle. Some encounters can also be broken from this Perk, causing enemies to flee before a fight even starts. |
You may still find some uses for these Perks, depending on what skills you've built into Henry throughout your adventure. However, the best Perks to get first are the ones that carry less risk and higher reward, while the worst ones can cause many more issues, from mild annoyances to utter frustrations as you play Kingdom Come: Deliverance.
