Warning! Spoilers ahead for Hawkeye.

Kingpin not showing up in the appearance of Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh). This might ultimately be for the best, however.

There were already rumors about Marvel Studios bringing back characters from the Marvel TV/Netflix universe, but fans were the most excited about the cast of Daredevil potentially ing the MCU. Kingpin has been speculated to be involved in Hawkeye, but it wasn't until episode 3 that it became clear that it's entirely possible for Fisk to debut this early in the franchise. While it's uncertain who will play the character, Kevin Feige's recent confirmation that MCU's Daredevil will be played by Charlie Cox lends credence to theories that Vincent D'Onofrio will also return to portray Kingpin.

At this point, it's unclear if Marvel Studios is simply adopting the same Daredevil characters into their franchise. When Marvel TV and Netflix's projects were developed, the plan was for them to connect to bigger MCU. But while Daredevil, The Avengers, their movie counterparts never mentioned the existence of the city's street-level heroes. For what it's worth, Marvel Studios has already set precedent when it comes to casting the same actor to play a different version of their old comic book role with J.K. Simmons. The actor brilliantly played J. Jonah Jameson in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man films; now, he's playing the same The Daily Bugle reporter, albeit a different version of the character in the MCU.

Whatever the case may be for D'Onofrio and Cox, fans are simply happy to see them play their old comic book characters again. They were both so good as Kingpin and Murdock individually and together in Daredevil that it makes sense for Marvel Studios to simply bring the actors to the MCU. While they debut separately with Fisk in Hawkeye and Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home, sooner or later, their paths will eventually cross in the universe which is very exciting.
