On the heels of rolling out Kirby Fighters 2, developer HAL Laboratory teased that even more Kirby-related goodness is on the docket for this year. Studio director Tadashi Kawai promised the team would "continue to deliver games in 2021" comprised of the brand's core values. UI Designer Yumi Todo hinted at the resurgence of events and media plans. Since it's still so early in the year, HAL Laboratory's intentions remain under wraps for the time being. But the latest news suggests that new Kirby projects aren't all fans can look forward to as the months wear on.
Japan's Takara Tomy recently opened preorders for a cuddly new Kirby plush that measures 14 inches tall, 23 inches wide, and 31 inches in length. It's massive with a pretty hefty price tag to boot, costing 11,000 yen (roughly $105). Preorders will remain available until February 28, while the item is expected to reach customers sometime in June. Marketing materials on the storefront show the Kirby plush being used predominantly as a pillow, but it seems only Japanese fans will get to enjoy all the cuddly merchandise has on offer. According to DualShockers, a note on the Kirby plush's page reads: "This product may be sold outside Japan." Yet, there are no firm details on if international sales are indeed a certainty.
