In a surprise announcement, Netflix has revealed The Kissing Booth 3 has already been filmed and will be released in 2021. Back in 2018, The Kissing Booth helped kick off Netflix's rom-com wave. The film is based on the novel of the same name by Beth Reekles and follows awkward teenager Elle (Joey King) as she grapples with her feelings for bad boy Noah (Jacob Elordi). The problem? Noah is the brother of Elle's best friend Lee (Joel Courtney), who has very strict rules about Elle getting involved with his sibling.

While The Kissing Booth was far from a critical hit, it proved to be a major success for Netflix. end of the film left the door wide open for another sequel.

Now, before The Kissing Booth 2's first weekend is even complete, Netflix has announced The Kissing Booth 3 is on the way. In a live stream with the cast, it has been confirmed that not only is The Kissing Booth 3 actually happening, it's already been filmed in secret. As a result, it's currently in post-production and is on track to be released sometime in 2021.

The Kissing Booth 2 Movie Review

Vince Marcello has returned to direct this third installment, which will also see the returns of the main Kissing Booth cast. Beyond King, Elordi, and Courtney, this includes Taylor Zakhar Perez and Molly Ringwald. Exactly when The Kissing Booth 3 will drop in 2021 has yet to be revealed, but it might be fair to guess it could be earlier in the year. After all, it's already in post-production, and provided no sudden obstacles crop up, fans might not have to wait an entire year.

While Netflix doesn't usually release figures about how their content performs, it is worth mentioning that To All the Boys, which is also expecting a third film next year. The Kissing Booth 3 is a go, and fans hopefully won't have to wait too long before they can see it.
