Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic has a significant amount of cut content, including quite a few bizarre encounters and conversations, and one of these would have been its most messed up had it actually been included. Thankfully, the Knights of the Old Republic restoration mod has helped to bring back much of what was missing from the game's official release, ranging from party dialogue to entire quest endings and areas of the game that might otherwise be inaccessible. One of the stranger pieces of repaired content revolves around NPCs Shen and Rahasia. The quest involving them has an unusual ending when played through with the KOTOR restoration mod.

Many fans of the franchise consider KOTOR to be the best Star Wars game even now, but the iconic RPG isn't without its fair share of issues. Knights of the Old Republic's lackluster romances have been criticized by players often, and KOTOR mods have become increasingly popular among PC gamers in particular thanks in large part to their ability to build upon all the features that BioWare was unable to fully flesh out. Even Star Wars fans who have played through the game multiple times over have been able to find good reason to return to the title. Plenty of new players have also opted to pick up Knights of the Old Republic as of late, perhaps due to the remake.

There have been rumors of a Star Wars: KOTOR remake circulating for years, but they only gained real credibility around 2021 when concrete details began to emerge. Shortly thereafter, 2021's PlayStation Showcase finally confirmed the long-awaited remake, revealing that Aspyr Media would be in charge of the project. The game was originally targeting a 2023 release, though recent shake-ups in its development - including KOTOR being transferred to an entirely new developer, Saber Interactive - make delays seem nearly inevitable. If nothing else, though, there's ample opportunity for both new and returning KOTOR players to go through and discover all the content that could easily be missed in a first playthrough.

How Shen And Rahasia's Quest Changes With The KOTOR Restoration Mod

Both sides of the Sandral-Matale feud in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.

One of the more extensive attempts at expanding upon the game, the KOTOR restoration mod, can be found on the game's best Knights of the Old Republic mods. In the mod's description, players can see a brief overview of the fixes made to the game. One of them brings back a cut exchange from the Sandral-Matale Feud quest, which revolves around two warring families and their children Shen and Rahasia, who are in love. There are various ways to resolve the feud, resulting in the families either reconciling, the two lovers escaping to live on their own, or their relationship ending entirely. However, KOTOR player Zeranvor on Reddit discovered another option in the restored version of Knights of the Old Republic: depending on Revan's gender, they can either flirt with Shen or Rahasia:

Stranger still, the other party actually seems to be very receptive despite the fact that their lover is right there participating in the conversation with them. It's by no means Knights of the Old Republic's cruelest trick in the story, but it's pretty messed up on both Revan's end and Shen or Rahasia's. Still, it's an interesting roleplaying opportunity, especially for a Revan that may be leaning more towards the Dark Side. Even the smallest interactions in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic help exemplify why the game is still so beloved among RPG players and Star Wars fans alike even after all this time.
