While 2025 is just beginning, there are already plenty of movies to go out and start seeing, and one of the most intriguing films coming to theaters soon is the post-apocalyptic romance film, Love Me's trailer has just been revealed, giving general audiences a look at the movie before its theatrical debut, and the film looks strikingly similar to Pixar's 2008 classic, WALL-E.

The Two Movies Have A Number Of Similar Ideas

Some of the similarities between Love Me and WALL-E are quite obvious, with the most obvious point being that both films revolve around nonhuman robots falling in love and trying to discover the meaning of life. WALL-E never got a sequel, and Love Me's similar themes of self-discovery and love mean that it is likely the closest that we are going to get to a true continuation of the Pixar classic, even if the two projects obviously don't take place within the same universe.

The biggest difference between the two films, aside from the different filmmaking medium, is likely the fact that WALL-E couldn't speak beyond his name, while the main characters in Love Me will be fully voiced throughout the film.

Another major similarity between the two films is the fact that they both feature a post-apocalyptic version of Earth inhabited only by robots. While humanity does still exist in WALL-E, and it is a major part of that film's story, the human race has seemingly completely vanished in the Kristen Stewart film, with the buoy and satellite seeming to be some of the only remnants left of humanity. However, the central point of the Earth being nearly completely devoid of human life remains the same between both films.

With the shared DNA between these films, it stands to reason that fans of WALL-E will also be able to find a lot of enjoyment out of this Kristen Stewart and Steven Yeun movie as well. The film's trailer has promised an extremely emotional journey, and with how the overarching plot seems to line up with the excellent and emotional WALL-E, Love Me seems like it can absolutely deliver the same kind of punch that WALL-E had 15 years ago.
