Fans of the Kung Fu Panda 3 and its sequel has brought back several questions that have been lingering for years by now.
These range from what Po’s purpose as the Dragon Warrior is now after his defeat of Kai, to what the status of the pandas is after they mastered their chi. Kung Fu Panda 4 needs to deliver answers to these queries since fans have waited nearly a decade for them to be answered, which is why they need to be looked at with greater detail.
Is Everyone Now Trained In Martial Arts?
There’s no doubt that Kung Fu Panda 4 is one of the most exciting Dreamworks projects, with this question no doubt in the minds of fans. Po had trained the people of the valley and the pandas how to fight in Kung Fu Panda 3, leaving the possibility that everyone now knows how to fight.
Since this somewhat defeats the purpose of the Furious Five and Po to guard them, it’s interesting to see if everyone’s a fighter by now. Another possibility that comes with it is that the people of the valley, who were always shown to be cowardly, might now behave differently.
Is Po's Mother Really Gone?
There’s never been an outright confirmation of the demise of Po’s mother, who has exclusively been seen in flashbacks. Although her absence is supposed to convey that she’s likely deceased, the same was once thought for Po’s father, who ended up reappearing.
Kung Fu Panda 4 should lay it to rest if Po’s mother really has ed away, which can be done by showing her in spirit form or by the characters learning the exact circumstance of her death. It will go a long way in bringing closure to fans over this vital aspect.
Are Po And Tigress Romantically Interested In Each Other?
While there are many great movies starring Angelina Jolie, plenty of fans still consider Kung Fu Panda among her very best. Her character, Tigress, has a firmer connection to Po compared to the others in the Furious Five, with some hints about their potential feelings for each other.
The previous two films have peppered some more elements concerning this without fully stating if there’s really supposed to be a romantic connection. Kung Fu Panda 4 needs to either solidify their friendship beyond any doubt or make it official if Po and Tigress might become a couple.
Why Isn't Tai Lung In The Spirit Realm?
It was revealed in Kung Fu Panda 3 that the Wuxi Finger Hold sends the victim to the Spirit Realm, which should logically mean that Tai Lung has to be there. However, he was nowhere to be seen in the third movie where the characters enter the Spirit Realm.
Kung Fu Panda 4 should have a reference to Tai Lung’s whereabouts since he’s a villain that fans are still interested to learn more about. Moreover, his absence served as a plot hole, as Kai was going after the greatest fighters in the Spirit Realm and Tai Lung should have qualified.
How Old Is Po Supposed To Be?
Kung Pu Panda is among the longest-running animated franchises to continue releasing content, with numerous TV shows in addition to the films. However, the movies need to make it canon just how old Po is supposed to be since it’s a bit of a head scratcher.
Po’s adoptive father claimed he had raised Po for 20 years, which goes against Lord Shen’s claim that he’d waited 30 years to kill Po. The inconsistency between his age should be addressed in Kung Fu Panda 4 where Po’s real age should be stated to lay all speculation to rest.
Have Pandas Returned To The Public Eye Now?
Pandas were in hiding for decades due to Lord Shen’s actions, with Po’s dad's journey to the valley marking the first time someone of their kind had come out in the open. Now that the threat of Shen and Kai has been removed, it begs the question if pandas can now roam free.
The ending of Kung Fu Panda 3 still showed the pandas in their own land, so there’s no confirmation right now if they have decided to venture to the rest of the world. Kung Fu Panda 4 should feature the pandas either in different settings or restricted to their own to establish what their situation is now.
Where Do Non-Kung Fu Masters Go In The Afterlife?
The Spirit Realm is where Kung Fu masters are shown to enter after they away, as seen in Kung Fu Panda 3. However, it’s not certain where normal mortals go, especially since it was only in the third movie that Po taught everyone how to master their chi.
Kung Fu Panda 4 has the task of expanding the franchise’s universe by depicting where non-kung fu individuals are sent to when their time has come. It would also be the way to answer the mystery behind the supposed demise of Po’s mother since she could appear in the afterlife.
Do All Different Species Have Unique Abilities?
There are a lot of different personalities in the Kung Fu Panda series, with unique species seemingly having their own abilities. This was seen in Kung Fu Panda 3, where pandas were shown to have natural instincts when it came to finding their chi.
The revelation brings with it the question if other animal species have abilities intrinsic to them. It would make sense if someone like Tigress could do things that others couldn’t if pandas have the power to command chi without the need to train for it.
What Purpose Does The Dragon Warrior Title Have Now?
Master Oogway revealed in Kung Fu Panda 3 that he chose Po as the Dragon Warrior because he foresaw the latter would protect everyone from Kai due to his natural chi ability. Now that the main purpose of his role as the Dragon Warrior has been fulfilled, there’s a big question mark over what his role is now.
In particular, there’s the question of what the Dragon Warrior title is supposed to mean since Po has completed what it stood for. Kung Fu Panda 4 needs to address how Po’s role as the Dragon Warrior functions following the defeat of Kai and if it has affected him at all.
