The Law & Order season 24 hasn't had a crossover with either show so far, having not been part of any crossovers since the September 2022 three-part special "Gimmie Shelter."

Now, according to TVLine, the next Law & Order crossover episode will air on Thursday, April 17 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC, taking up a two-hour block ing for one episode of the main show and SVU. The crossover will focus on Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) getting a mysterious phone call that leads to a murder scene. This launches an investigation between both show's teams, seeking a suspect "targeting marginalized women." It will be followed by the premiere of Law & Order: Organized Crime at 10 p.m. ET on both NBC and Peacock.

Law & Order: Organized Crime's premiere moves that week's episode of Found to Monday, April 14 at 10 p.m. ET. It will return to its regular Thursday at 10 p.m. ET time slot on April 24.

What Law & Order's Newest Crossover Means For Both Shows

An Important Case On An Important Night

The two-part event will be the fourth crossover involving the original show and SVU, and the third time the shows have crossed over with just one another. The description of the event indicates that Nolan Price (Hugh Dancy) and Dominick Carisi (Peter Scanavino) will be the ones to bring both teams together for the major investigation. With Law & Order: SVU season 26 having plenty of harrowing cases about murder and assault already this season, it's clear the latest one will be too difficult for them to tackle on their own.

In addition, the premiere of Law & Order: Organized Crime season 5 that night is another major event, with the premiere airing on NBC and the first two episodes coming to Peacock. The night marks its move entirely to the streaming service, making it an important night for the whole franchise. Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni) isn't expected to show up in the two-parter, though, with the crossover being entirely centered on the teams from the other two shows. While exact events haven't been confirmed, from both series will have plenty to do during this new investigation.

The Franchise's New Event May Have A Lot To Say

The Law & Order crossover will feature a criminal that targets particularly vulnerable women, a subject that will make its presentation all the more important. The way both shows handle the investigation is going to be interesting to watch play out, especially dependent on how its characters treat the case. With a significant subject to tackle and two teams leading the charge, it should prove interesting to see how they handle what they uncover.
