New details have been revealed about the three-way crossover of the Law & Order franchise. The procedural drama was rejuvenated in a big way earlier this way when the original Law & Order series returned for season 21. Though it had been off the air since its initial 2010 end, the popular show kicked back into gear with a few familiar faces and a recognizable case-of-the-week setup.

The reliability of the premise has been key to its success. But, back in July, NBC announced that Law & Order: Organized Crime. Although it was revealed that the crossover would happen on one night, as part of the franchise's September premiere, featuring stars from all three shows, plot specifics have been kept under wraps. But now, fresh details are emerging.

As per Law & Order's Jack McCoy and Nolan Price will "seek justice against an international crime ring." It doesn't end there, as complications threaten the outcome of the case. Check out a trailer for the crossover event, from the Law & Order YouTube channel, below.

Previewing what fans can expect from the big event, Law & Order showrunner Rick Eid noted that the episodes will play differently than past crossovers. Eid clarified that the episodes are structured and produced more like a movie, playing out as one united and intersecting story that involves characters from all three shows. This would differentiate it from other Law & Order crossovers where, typically, one cast hands off the story to another at the end of the hour.

It will be a busy night for all involved, but particularly for Brooks as Detective Shaw. The actor is ing the franchise after Anthony Anderson exited Law & Order and his new character will be sharing the case with franchise heavyweights like McCoy, Benson, and Stabler. But it's likely that if the crossover connects with audiences, these characters will be seeing more of each other in the future.
