Though not quite as expansive a collection as the original version, when players enter Runeterra and take to the Battle Arena in destroy the other team's Nexus to win the game. As players fight, they will need to upgrade their champion's skills and pick up more items to help them become more powerful, as they will always begin a match with only their most basic stats. Selecting the right champion and knowing how to build for success is of the utmost importance.
Some champions are better choices than others, based on their strengths and available builds. Jhin, the Virtuoso, is a gunslinger and mage. He has been considered an S-Tier champion when used as a Marksman in the Dragon Lane because of the massive amounts of physical damage he can do. This is due in large part to his hand-cannon, which deals a guaranteed critical strike and does bonus damage every fourth time it is fired. In addition, any time Jhin makes a critical hit, it boosts his movement speed to give him more flexibility to find the best positioning and the ability to escape sticky situations. If players have decided to make Jhin their champion, they will want to build him with critical damage, movement, and mana regeneration boosts in mind. Here are some tips and strategies for building and playing as Jhin in League of Legends: Wild Rift.
Tips, Tricks, And Strategies For Jhin In League Of Legends: Wild Rift
Like all the other champions, Jhin has five main abilities, but his innate ability, his hand-cannon Whisper, is unique from the innate attacks of most other champions. Jhin's abilities include:
- Whisper (Innate, ive): Deals superior damage, firing at a fixed rate and carrying only four shots. The fourth shot is imbued with dark magic and is a guaranteed critical strike. After each crit, Jhin is inspired with a burst of Movement Speed
- Dancing Grenade: Launches a magical cartridge that can hit up to four targets and gain damage after each successful kill
- Deadly Flourish: Fires a single shot that pierces through minions and monsters at incredible range, but stops at the first champion it hits. If that target was recently struck by an ally, lotus trap, or Jhin himself, they will be rooted.
- Captive Audience: Places a lotus trap that blooms when stepped on. It slows and damages enemies. A lotus trap will also bloom near any spot on the map where Jhin kills an enemy champion.
- Curtain Call (Ultimate): Transforms Whisper into a shoulder-mounted mega-cannon that can fire 4 super shots at extreme range. Like Deadly Flourish, the shot will rip through minions and monsters, but stop once the first champion has been hit. The shot will slow the targeted champion and deal execute damage. The fourth shot from Curtain Call is more powerful and also a guaranteed critical strike.
There are a few quirks about Jhin's unique abilities that players should keep in mind. Most importantly, if Jhin does not use an ability within 10 seconds, he will automatically reload Whisper, and players will need to start over to get a critical strike. If players use an ability, Jhin will hold onto his current number of bullets, allowing players to more easily pull off critical hit combos. However, once Jhin fires his fourth shot, it will take 2.5 seconds to reload. during that time, Jhin cannot auto attack, but he can still cast abilities like Dancing Grenade and Deadly Flourish, so it is best to hold onto these for a while if possible.
Players can use abilities in specific combination to lead Jhin in a deadly dance against his enemies. Some of the more powerful combos include:
- Third auto attack, followed by Dancing Grenade, and fourth auto attack
- Captive Audience, followed by Deadly Flourish, Auto Attack, Dancing Grenade, and another Auto Attack
These combinations will allow Jhin to deal maximum damage, poke enemy lanes, and often control the flow of battle.
For summoner spells, Flash and Heal will work best for Jhin. Flash gives him just a little more mobility to position him to use an ability like Deadly Flourish where it will be most effective. It will also help when he is inevitably confronted by melee champions, as he doesn't get much mobility from his skills alone. Heal is just a good choice for marksmen in general, and it will heal not only Jhin but also his partner. Heal also grants a short burst of Movement Speed, which will always be important for this champion.
When choosing items for Jhin, players should focus on increasing his critical damage, movement speed, and armor penetration. It is absolutely vital to invest in Infinity Edge, which will significantly increase critical damage. Phantom Dancer is also an excellent choice, as it can grant a shield to Jhin if ever his HP drops below a certain percentage. Finally, Rapid Firecannon is considered a must-have, as it will increase attack range. Other good options include:
- Boots of Swiftness or Gluttonous Greaves with a Quicksilver Enchant
- Youmuu's Ghostblade
- Guardian Angel
- Mortal Reminder
- Statikk Shiv
- Duskblade of Draktharr
Players should also pick Runes that will enhance Jhin's critical capabilities, mana regeneration, and mobility. Good options include:
- Fleet Footwork: Increases movement speed
- Brutal, Gathering Storm, or Hunter - Vampirism: Increases AD
- Regeneration or Sweet Tooth: Increases health regeneration
- Manaflow Band: Increases mana
- Spirit Walker: Adds an HP bonus and slow resistance
Fleet Footwork is the one players will most want to have for Jhin. The rest will largely be up to player preferences and needs.
If players are looking to maximize kill pressure with Jhin, they might want to pair up with Blitzcrank. The two work well together, and Jhin's abilities can help Blitzcrank get nearly guaranteed kills with his Rocketgrab ability.
