Jenna Fischer's character may have married Jim Halpert (John Krasinski) on superstar director James Gunn from 2000 to 2008, but after their divorce, Kirk and Fischer began working on a project together in 2008 (via People). Work meetings soon became dates and movie planning became relationship planning.
The pair officially began dating soon after and in 2010, they were married in a small wedding ceremony. A year later, Kirk and Fischer welcomed Weston Lee into the family. Weston gained a sister, Harper Marie, in 2014. Kirk is a screenwriter and director, who wrote and directed Ordinary World and Giant Mechanical Man along with a handful of short films. 2012's The Giant Mechanical Man was pitched directly to Fischer, who signed on as a producer and an actress. They've been strong partners ever since, even appearing in an episode of The Office together.

Lee Kirk appeared in season 6, episode 18, The Delivery: Part 2, where Jim and Pam (Fischer) have given birth to Cece and are dealing with all the hiccups a new baby can introduce. One problem is that Cece does not seem to be taking to feeding easily. While Jim thinks they can figure it out, Pam insists they call in a specialist. A lactation consultant, Clark comes in to help the parents, and he's played by none other than Lee Kirk. While Clark gets intimately close to Pam to help with feeding, Jim watches from his chair, looking uncomfortable.

Jenna Fischer is mostly known for her role as receptionist-turned-saleswoman- Pam Beesly in the American version of the UK's The Office.
Kirk pitches Clark perfectly, playing him innocuously but also with just a hint of weirdness, strolling into the room and asking the couple, "Got milk?" Despite that one joke, Pam is totally at ease and Clark is just there to help. His innocence and effectiveness makes Jim's sullen discomfort all the more hilarious. It's as if Clark has experienced this exact kind of overprotective new father countless times before and has decided the most effective method to deal with them is to basically treat them like they're not there.

That's not the only time Lee Kirk has been involved with The Office. He also directed episode 14 of season 9, "Vandalism", where Pam's mural in the warehouse is defaced. While Jim is off in Philly building Athlead, Pam is trying to keep things together at home, and is awarded the chance to paint a mural in the warehouse. However, after a worker paints a crude image over it, Pam and Dwight (Rainn Wilson) begin an investigation to find out who has it out for her and her painting.
This episode is not always fondly ed in The Office rankings because of how Brian the boom operator (Chris Diamantopoulos) figures into it so heavily, but the problems with the episode: Brian, Frank the vandal (Brad William Henke), and the scattered characters and story, are not the director's fault. Kirk makes do with what he has to work with and moves the plot forward quickly with Pam and Angela (Angela Kinsey), while also expertly staging one of the most dramatic moments in the show with Frank and Brian's fight.
Brad William Henke ed away on November 29, 2022, at the age of 56.
Kirk had a delightful time on set, telling The Office Ladies podcast,
"We had so much fun. We couldn't get through takes. You know, we were just laughing and goofing off and having so much fun. I the first scene we shot in that apartment was when Darryl comes back on his lunch break and Jim is sitting there and Darryl's got that little cooler."
Lee Kirk may have only had two moments with The Office, but they seemed to be as important to him as the show remains to its many fans.
