Vampire Diaries spin-off, doesn't disappoint when it comes to romances. Although the series is only in its second season, Legacies has delivered quite a variety of romances. Some are of the romantic true love variety, others are past loves, and a few are quick-moment potentials.
While the majority of these characters are young, they are open to romance, and some of these relationships even seem to have the potential to be epic.
Josie & Jade
This is just a beginning "crush," which is why it ranks the lowest on this list. Josie finds a way to visit Jade in her dreams. Jade, now with her humanity turned back on and out of the prison world, seems ready to make amends and to enjoy a new experience.
It could be that Jade will be one who brings the original Josie back now that Dark Josie has taken over. While Jade recognizes Josie's strength like Penelope did, she is a more empathetic character. This romance has potential if Dark Josie doesn't get in the way.
Alyssa & Kaleb
Alyssa is a very interesting side character who could have more of a role in the episodes. While she pines for MG, MG has literally no romantic feelings for her. It also seems that he doesn't really like her that much as a friend either. Meanwhile, Kaleb is interested in Alyssa.
In Season 1, Kaleb seemed to be a villain-character. However, he really does care about his friends and respects Alaric. In Season 2, Kaleb developed into a more rounded character with his own story. The same could happen for Alyssa. She's been considered a villain-character, but she could develop into a strong ally and become friends with the group. Kaleb could help encourage this if their potential romance developed into a real one.
Alaric & Sheriff Mac
Fans long to see Alaric in a strong and healthy relationship. Throughout his time on The Vampire Diaries, many things happened to those he loved and cared about. Jenna, Alaric's girlfriend, was made into a vampire and sacrificed by Klaus in a ritual.
Isobel, Alaric's first wife, became a vampire, faked her death, and cheated on Alaric with Damon. Alaric's second wife and the biological mother of his twins, Jo, was brutally murdered by her twin brother in front of Alaric on their wedding day. Alaric doesn't seem to be able to catch a break.
Sheriff Mac is definitely interested in Alaric, who seems to like her as well. Perhaps over time, this can develop into more than casual-first-date territory.
Emma & Dorian
While there is definitely an attraction between Emma and Alaric, other than a magic-influenced kiss, this relationship has never developed into a romance. Meanwhile, Emma and Dorian became a couple, broke-up, got back together, and seem to have gotten married.
Now, from the recent episode, it looks like Emma and Dorian are leaving the school to work on their relationship. While they hopefully won't be gone for too long, we also hope that they return to the school as a strong couple, a type of relationship in which the students may aspire to attain.
MG & Kym
Kaleb's sister, Kym, was a breath of fresh air on the show, as she developed a budding romance with MG. Kym was a human who loved knowledge and worked with Dorian (another human) to help the school and students. She found Kaleb's school fascinating and wanted to be a part of it. However, Kaleb wanted to protect his sister from a supernatural world that could hurt her. Part of that supernatural world was his school and his best friend, MG.
Kaleb objected to them dating, worrying about the welfare of his sister. Still, he couldn't deny the fact that the two liked each other, and he decided to them. Unfortunately, Kym didn't stay at the school for long, thus ending this romance.
Josie & Landon
When Hope was forgotten by all due to the Malivore's influence, Josie and Landon got together. While they lacked the ion that Landon and Hope had, they seemed to have an overall good relationship. Josie and Landon share similarities that helped them connect. They both take care of others and are willing to talk.
They communicated well, and there was certainly an attraction between the two of them. It just wasn't as strong as the one between Hope and Landon.
Lizzie & MG
MG has loved Lizzie from afar for a long time. He's been willing to help her out with anything, often dropping what he's doing. When Lizzie needs someone to talk to or when she needs comforting, MG is there for her. In the recent episode, Lizzie realized that she only goes to MG when she's upset and that she needs to share her happy days with him, too.
A sincere MG told her to never stop coming to him when she's upset, and that she can always come to him. While this romance has always seemed one-sided, the last episode showed a spark between the two. We don't know if it will ever develop into a fire, but we're willing to wait and see.
Lizzie & Sebastian
Lizzie was taken with Sebastian from her first meeting, and Sebastian felt that Lizzie was the only good thing about this modern world. There was an immediate attraction between both of them, and in the end, Sebastian seemed to genuinely care for Lizzie.
Sebastian willingly sacrificed himself to save Lizzie and her family so that they could leave the prison world. It could be that he escaped the prison world since Lizzie told him how to get out when the plane started to crumble. However, that is only speculation at this point.
Still, although the two had chemistry, this romance was pretty consuming and unhealthy. While that could change, whether it does remains to be seen.
Josie & Penelope
When Season 1 started, Josie and Penelope were no longer together. Even though they weren't technically a couple, Penelope still loved Josie. She wanted Josie to embrace her strength and to stop playing second fiddle to Lizzie.
Penelope had found out about the Merge, where one Gemini-coven twin absorbs the other, killing their sibling. She was terrified that Josie would be the twin to die, and she couldn't stay to watch it happen. Therefore, Penelope gave Josie the tools to find out about the Merge. At the moment, it has not been revealed how Penelope would react to Dark Josie. In one way, she'd be happy that Josie embraced her power. In another way, she'd be sad that the woman she loved was buried under all this darkness.
Hope & Landon
Hope and Landon were an item before Legacies even began. They met when Hope was on The Originals. They danced together at a town function while Klaus fondly looked on, wanting to see his daughter happy with a town-boy, rather than thinking about having to leave her when he died. It could be that Landon actually got Klaus's approval at that moment, something very hard to do.
These two love each other and are the most developed couple on the show. While they have their own problems, they seem to power through. Hope worries that she will have to leave Landon behind, that she isn't meant to be with him. Landon worries that Hope doesn't see him as strong, although this has changed.
Then there is the threat of a love triangle with Hope and Rafael (Landon's best friend). Hope and Landon's relationship is both ionate and strong. It is the romance that has all the ingredients to become epic.
