Dark Link is the first boss in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom and helps to teach you some of the new battle mechanics in the game. The fight itself is straightforward and requires you to deal damage. However, Dark Link is also equipped with the Hylian Shield. He can block all damage that hits him in the direction he is facing. In this guide, you will learn how you can use the tools you are given to easily defeat Dark Link.
This fight is located in the Suthorn Ruins and is similar to a mini-boss encounter normally found in the series. This is because there is a final boss in the dungeon. You will use the mechanics you learned from Dark Link to help against the Seismic Taelus and obtain your first Might Crystals in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom.
How To Defeat Dark Link In Echoes Of Wisdom
Dark Link Is Easier To Beat Than You Might Think
When the battle against Dark Link begins, he will be in the top center of the chamber. The room is set up strategically so you have multiple ways to approach the enemy. There are three rock platforms and a long patch of grass. Two pots are located on opposite sides of the room; one on the ground and one on an elevated platform.
Normally, you will want to make a break for the grass. This will cut off Dark Link's line of sight, allowing you to sneak up behind him and summon the best echoes that you have at the time. By doing this a few times, players should be able to take down the boss.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom - How To Get A Horse
Getting any horse in Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is a small challenge, but getting Zelda's horse will require a little more patience.
Dark Link can be defeated more easily by using the power of Tri, as showcased by GosuNoob on YouTube. By holding X, you will aim in the direction you are facing and can release to bind your movement to a hit enemy. You can pull Dark Link's shield away and temporarily remove it. This will allow your echoes to freely damage him. The angle can be tricky at times, but he will quickly be defeated by using this method.
If you ever need to get some distance from Dark Link, tapping R will make Zelda spin. This is much faster than walking.
The battle against Dark Link is only one of the many boss fights in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. Each enemy will have different weak points that need to be exploited. Fortunately, you are given multiple ways to approach a boss fight, thanks to Zelda's new echo ability.
