The popular revival series Leverage: Redemption is returning for a third season, but this time it will be on Prime Video instead of Freevee. Coming as a continuation of Leverage, which aired its final episode in 2012, Redemption follows Nate Ford's widow, Sophie Devereaux, as she reunites his original crew to continue their crusade against corporate greed and government malfeasance. Like its predecessor, Leverage: Redemption takes the procedural format and turns it on its ear with clever plots that serve up weekly doses of satisfying social justice.

The first two seasons of the continuation were met with rave reviews, and it's clear that the team behind Leverage hasn't missed a step, even after a decade. Dean Devlin returned to once again serve as executive producer, and series creators John Rogers and Chris Downey also returned. This gives the revival series a sense of continuity with its predecessor and has also allowed characters to continue to grow as they re in Leverage: Redemption. Though the fate of season 3 was somewhat uncertain for a time, the original procedural drama is coming back with more episodes soon.

The Team Uses Their Leverage To Stop High-Profile Criminals

While season 2's finale seemingly put the show's two biggest villains, Ramsay and Arthur, behind bars for good, other things were less certain. The reconciliation between Sophie and Astrid seemingly happened at some point during season 2, but season 3 could actually explore their complicated relationship in more detail, especially when contextualized through Nate's death. Prime Video released a synopsis for season 3 which teases some of the cases coming in season 3.

In Season 3 the team pits themselves against a power broker stealing the clean water under people's feet and turning into dirty money, fight against a mayor who's literally the judge and jury of his small town, outrun a mark who's finally caught up with them mid-con, outhustle a pool hustler with a side business in international extortion, and bring down an industrialist exploiting child labor. All this while dodging an intricate plan of vengeance from a past enemy and working through the fallout of their new personal relationships. But no matter what, when someone needs help, they provide ... Leverage.

What will really determine the story of Leverage: Redemption season 3 is Amazon's plans for the show's future. The shift to Prime Video is a sign that the streamer plans to continue the series for more seasons. That means that the season will have to start weaving in new storylines that can play out in the long term, and that might also involve new characters and new threats for the team to use their special skills against.
