As Leverage: Redemption gets closer to the end of season 3, the Leverage team is taking on an unusual case, and ScreenRant has an exclusive clip from this week's episode, Leverage: Redemption season 3, episode 9, “The Polygeist Job,” to prove it. The revival series has done an excellent job of maintaining the tone of the original while updating its stories for today’s audiences, and it does it again here. “The Polygeist Job” will take the format of a traditional Leverage episode, but it does so with the inclusion of a modern romantic idea: the polycule.
Leverage: Redemption season 3, episode 9, “The Polygeist Job,” sees the team go up against a technology guru who is claiming to use their company's work to make the world a better place. The Leverage team goes after the tech company’s executives by pulling a “cabin in the woods” job, but finds the group is even closer than they initially thought.
The clip shows Breanna (Aleyse Shannon) frustrated after her attempt to gain entry to the tech company does not go well. As she tries to figure out what went wrong, the rest of the team attempts to help her via their inner ear coms. Sophie (Gina Bellman), Parker (Beth Reisgraf), and Eliot (Christian Kane) encourage her to tell them everything she noticed during her meeting, which leads them to create a list of traits, including how tactile the group is with one another. It gives Breanna a surprising revelation about their relationship.

What The Clip Means For Leverage Season 3, Episode 9
Breanna Is Getting The Spotlight Here
While the clip does not highlight the “cabin in the woods” aspect of the episode, it does give the spotlight to Breanna. Leverage: Redemption has been picking up the same thread from the original Leverage TV show in teaching young “criminals” how to think outside the box when it comes to crime and become better versions of themselves. Much of the principal cast learned that in the original series, but Breanna, as the younger foster sister of Alec Hardison (Aldis Hodge), is learning more than most in the series.
Breanna is the team’s tech genius in Hardison’s Leverage: Redemption absence after his leaving the team. She is also a gifted engineer who has shown a deep knowledge of physics and environmental science, and is always itching to be included in the con part of the job. This episode appears to be giving Breanna another chance to get out from behind the computer screen and learn another aspect of the con - improving her ability to read people.

"We'd Never Done Something Like That Before": Leverage: Redemption Season 3's Oldboy Homage Was Almost Impossible To Pull Off
Leverage: Redemption pays homage to Oldboy with a unique fight scene in season 3.
The most surprising part of the Leverage: Redemption clip might be Sophie’s assurance to the team that she is very familiar with what a polycule is. Sophie’s past has always been full of mystery. While the original Leverage series helped Sophie to find redemption while still enjoying the performance required for a con, the revival series is pulling back the layers of who the woman behind the alias really is.
While the original Leverage series helped Sophie to find redemption while still enjoying the performance required for a con, the revival series is pulling back the layers of who the woman behind the alias really is.
Leverage: Redemption might never reveal Sophie’s real name, but the series has brought back plenty of characters from her past, most notably in season 2, and slowly teased out bits and pieces of some of her time long before she met the family she has made among the Leverage team. Lines like Sophie knowing what a polycule is might seem like a throwaway mention to get an eyebrow raise from the audience, but it’s exactly the kind of thing Leverage: Redemption does best - surprising the audience while revealing backstory.
Our Take On Leverage’s “The Polygeist Job” Clip
The Clip Plays On Leverage’s Own Polycule Fan Theories
“The Polygeist Job” clip is particularly fun in that it pays homage to a classic Leverage fan theory. Though the original series paired up Parker and Hardison to become one of the most interesting romances in the show, there exists a strong contingent of Leverage fans who believe Parker, Hardison, and Eliot were their own polycule. While the three characters had plenty of adventures without the other of the team, they became family, not a romantic trio.
Within the clip, there are moments, like Sophie playing with Parker’s hair, all three original Leverage team sitting in close proximity, and mirroring several of the traits Breanna mentions in her list. It’s a great way to demonstrate that the Leverage: Redemption team is extremely close and give a nod to an old fan theory at the same time.
"The Polygeist Job" will be available to stream on Prime Video on Thursday, May 29.
