Mercy Wonders How Powerful Doomsday Could Become DC

After breaking out of Hell, Doomsday did what he does best and made a beeline to fight Superman. But during the battle, Superman was temporarily (and temporally) stopped by the mysterious Time Trapper, who revealed himself to be a hyper-evolved Doomsday who had been killed and evolved so many times that he became his most powerful and intelligent self possible. The Time Trapper appeared to Clark, asking the hero to kill the future Doomsday one last time so that the Time Trapper could be reborn as a god of time, with Superman refusing to do so.

Knowing that Doomsday was destined to grow in power, Superman and Supercorp took every step to contain Doomsday and make sure he'd never grow in power. But with Metropolis being attacked on all sides, Lex called an audible and got rid of both Doomsday and Radiant by securely containing them in one of Brainiac's bottles. ittedly, it saves the day in the short-term. But what Lex has actually done was create the perfect environment to evolved into the Time Trapper in the first place. Now Doomsday’s going to be killed repeatedly while the bottle’s time distortion adds to his power.

Has Lex Luthor Doomed Superman?

Comic book : Time Trapper appears before Superman

Judging by the Time Trapper's speech to Superman, Doomsday is going to be locked away in that bottled city for some time, so there's no immediate threat to Clark or his family. But Time Trapper is on the precipice of becoming a god, and he's still got all of Doomsday's worst traits. The one saving grace, if one could call it that, is that the Time Trapper is confronted by Darkseid's Legion once he returns to the end of time, and they might put him through something far worse than death.

It's unfortunate that the only way to stop Doomsday this go-round was to give his future self exactly what he wanted. Now Doomsday is currently in the process of becoming a god. Granted, the future is malleable and things could change at any moment. But thanks to Lex, Doomsday has begun a journey that could end with him becoming one of the most powerful beings that Superman or anyone in the DC Universe has ever seen.
