Netflix's latest adapted series in development, Mickey Haller, who operates his practice out of his Lincoln Town Car in Los Angeles.
Netflix's iteration of the story will be ten episodes and follow the second Lincoln Lawyer book, The Brass Verdict. Previously, The Lincoln Lawyer was set to air on CBS, but the network unexpectedly pulled the show's plug. The CBS show was initially expected to air in 2020 or 2021, which was no longer possible due to halts in production caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. The show was CBS Studios, "first official on a project from the 2020 broadcast pilot season". Shortly following, Netflix nabbed the A+E series for a 1 season 10-episode order.

David E. Kelley of Big Little Lies and Goliath will remain on The Lincoln Lawyer series as a co-writer and executive producer alongside the original Lincoln Lawyer author Michael Connelly. Ted Humphrey of The Good Wife and Wisdom of the Crowd will also continue as a co-writer, executive producer, and showrunner with Goliath and Big Sky's Ross Fineman executive producing. Netflix hopes to draw in both new and old fans with what it describes as a "renowned team of writers" and "a rich, multilayered story filled with intriguing characters and mysteries to solve."
Although audiences have seen The Lincoln Lawyer film on the big screen, it's exciting to know that the Netflix series plans to add some fresh twists to the story. Netflix's adjustment to focus on the second book of The Lincoln Lawyer series and the platform's aim to celebrate the Latinx heritage of the LA-based story are two simple adjustments that may craft a whole new context to the character than in the Matthew McConaughey film. Campbell has not yet commented on her involvement in the project. Still, the show's decision to play further into family dynamics amongst her and Haller makes her a highly anticipated character.
