Part of the appeal of the hit miniseries Little Fires Everywhere is the dynamic cast of characters. These characters are incredibly complex and fans are given ample time to watch them develop and grow. By the end of the season, fans have a clear understanding of each character's traits and motivations.
And anytime a Hogwarts houses has become a cultural phenomenon. So let's continue to the phenomenon by sorting the characters from Little Fires Everywhere into their Hogwarts house.
Brian: Gryffindor
Gryffindors are known for being bold, brave, and possessing nerve and chivalry. These traits definitely apply to Brian. Brian isn't afraid to speak his mind.
When he believes something is wrong, Brian bluntly explains his point. He is even willing to stand up to his girlfriend Lexie, pointing our her problematic behavior to her. He has a strong moral code and ends his relationship when he realizes that Lexie does not possess the same values as him.
Linda: Slytherin
Linda is a cunning and successful woman. She is focused on achieving her dreams and accomplishing her goals and refuses to let anyone stand in her way.
Despite her trouble conceiving a child, she tries multiple times before beginning the adoption process. When Bebe tries to win back custody of her daughter, Linda must recognize the pain that Bebe is feeling, however, she refuses to lose custody of May Ling. Her determination and ambition prove that Linda is a Slytherin.
Bebe: Hufflepuff
Bebe possesses many Hufflepuff traits. She is hardworking, dedicated, and loyal. She works incredibly hard at her job, working long hours to try to provide for herself and her child.
When she fears for her daughter's life, she makes the difficult decision to sacrifice her own happiness to try and save May Ling's life. Afterwards, she is relentless in her search to find her daughter - dedicating herself to getting her back at all costs.
Bill: Slytherin
It is clear that Bill is a Slytherin. This lawyer is ambitious and successful. When representing Linda in court, he is both cunning and shrewd. Bill is achievement-oriented and has worked hard to provide for his family and accomplish his goals.
When Bill learns Elena has been cheating on him, he is angered by her betrayal. However, instead of becoming angry and exploding, Bill is calm and level-headed. He decides to investigate his suspicion, waiting for confirmation before saying anything. When his fears are confirmed, he focuses on his work and only confronts Elena after his win.
Moody: Ravenclaw
Though Moody is not in as many honors classes as his siblings, he is still wise. He has great linguistic abilities, clearly sharing his thoughts and reading poetry for fun. He is also incredibly creative, which is another Ravenclaw trait.
His creativity is clearly illustrated when he takes Pearl to the secret hideout he has created inside of a junkyard. The van is decorated beautifully with other found items and he even plays the guitar while spending time there with Pearl. Moody appreciates originality and individuality, appreciating Izzy and Pearl and staying true to himself, proving that he is a true Ravenclaw.
Izzy: Ravenclaw
While some may initially think of Izzy as a Hufflepuff due to her kind heart and comion, further examination will prove she belongs in Ravenclaw house. Firstly, Izzy is an artist. Her ability to express herself creatively and her desire to remain true to herself in spite of outside pressure are huge evidence of her placement.
Izzy is also wise beyond her years. She accepts others for who they are and values originality and individuality. She demonstrates her wit and sharpness through her quick comebacks and choice of language.
Lexie: Slytherin
Lexie is extremely driven. Time and time again, Lexie proves that she will go to great lengths to protect her reputation and accomplish her goals. She shows no remorse over stealing Pearl's letter to use as her college essay or using Pearl's name on her paperwork at the abortion clinic.
Lexie is cunning and is able to twist stories and manipulate others, keeping Pearl, Brian, and Elena's for most of the series. Valuing ambition and self-preservation above all proves that Lexie is a Slytherin.
Pearl: Ravenclaw
Pearl is incredibly gifted and intelligent. She is academically driven, taking many honors classes and receiving top marks in her class. She is extremely creative and expresses her thoughts and feelings through poetry.
She enjoys reading other literature, from novels to poetry. With her love of knowledge and learning, Pearl would certainly earn herself a spot in Ravenclaw house.
Elena: Gryffindor
Contrary to popular belief, not all Gryffindors are good, and Elena is a perfect example of this. Traits that can sometimes be seen as irable such as bravery and nerve become problematic when the person employing these traits is operating on poor morals.
Still, Elena has all of the classic traits of a Gryffindor, she is extremely bold -- making statements that often shock those around her. Once she sets her mind on accomplishing something, she incredibly determined. She is also hot-headed which is often seen as a negative consequence of the combination of Gryffindor traits.
Mia: Ravenclaw
Mia is an artist. Her creativity is what most defines her and much of her life revolves around creating new art. Her artistry spans across several different mediums as she combines sculpting, painting, photography, and more to create her art. Mia is also incredibly wise. She serves as a mentor to Izzy, both in art and in life. She isn't afraid to be brutally honest when sharing her knowledge with others, even if they are not ready to hear it.
Mia also values originality and individuality. This is why she is so drawn to Izzy and why she is frustrated to see Pearl adapting her persona to fit in with her peers in Shaker Heights. For all of these reasons and more, Mia would clearly be sorted into Ravenclaw house.
