The Locke and Key cast for season 2 featured all the main characters and some interesting cameos. Inspired by the comics by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez, Netflix's Locke & Key is a supernatural adventure in which a group of children discovers they have inherited the role of Keepers of the Keys — protectors of magical keys sought after by demonic enemies. Locke & Key season 1 was a hit for Netflix, and season 2 built upon that story, promoting a number of secondary characters into major roles.
The streaming giant finished everything off with Locke and Key season 3, which wrapped up the story in 2022. By the end, the Locke kids had finally overcome the demons and saved their family and home, albeit with a few casualties along the way. Locke & Key featured a top-rate cast, and season 2 expanded on the cast by introducing a number of key new characters who became important as the story moved into season 3. Each of the actors played an important role in telling the story, and the actors were mostly accurate as far as the comics were concerned.
Jackson Robert Scott is Bodie Locke
Best known for his breakout role as Georgie in the remake of Stephen King's It, Jackson Robert Scott has also appeared in Fear the Walking Dead and Criminal Minds. In the Locke & Key cast, he plays Bode Locke, the youngest member of the family and the one most receptive to magic. Bode has been quite an isolated child, escaping into the fantasy world of magic, but in Locke & Key season 2, he finally began to open up and make friends. Bode ended up playing an important role in the final battle with Dodge in season 3. Scott's most recent role was in the 2023 movie Jesus Revolution.
Emilia Jones is Kinsey Locke
Emilia Jones is a talented theater performer who's played in major productions of Turn of the Screw, Far Away at the Young Vic, and Shrek the Musical. Her television roles include appearances in Doctor Who and Utopia, but the Locke and Key cast was her most high-profile role at that time. Jones plays Kinsey, the Locke daughter and middle child who, by the end, played an important role in finally defeating the demon Gideon once and for all. As for Jones, she had an award-caliber performance in 2021 as the lead character in the Oscar-winning CODA.
Connor Jessup is Tyler Locke
Canadian actor Connor Jessup is best known for playing Ben Mason in Falling Skies and Taylor Blaine in American Crime. An accomplished writer and producer, he runs a production company, Big & Quiet Pictures, with producer Ashley Shields-Muir. In Locke & Key Jessup plays Tyler Locke, the oldest of the Locke children, who faces the challenge of balancing a world of magic with his desire for a real life. Tyler was the rock for the family, though, and fought the demons side by side with his siblings. He hasn't had any major credits since the Locke and Key cast.
Darby Stanchfield is Nina Locke
Niece of legendary Disney animator Walt Stanchfield, Darby Stanchfield is an accomplished actress who's best known for playing Abby Whelan in Shonda Rhimes' hit show Scandal but has also appeared in numerous other Shondaland titles. In Locke & Key she plays Nina Locke, mother to the Locke children who brought them to the Keyhouse in the hopes of finding answers after the tragic murder of her husband. Unlike the Locke and Key comics, where she spends almost all her time abusing alcohol in her grief, she comes around in the show and is a key part of saving her family at the end.
Aaron Ashmore is Duncan Locke
Duncan Locke was something of a background character in the Locke and Key cast in season 1, but he was upgraded to a major role in season 2. Locke & Key season 2 explored Duncan's history as one of the original Keepers of the Keys, finally confronting him with the memories that had been stolen from him. The character is played by Smallville alumni Aaron Ashmore (he played Jimmy Olsen), twin brother to Shawn Ashmore (who played Iceman in the X-Men movies). More recently, Ashmore picked up a recurring role as Gil in the Netflix series Ginny & Georgia.
Griffin Gluck is Gabe
Another background character in the Locke and Key cast in season 1, Gabe became Kinsey's boyfriend — but, as the dramatic season 1 finale revealed, he was an alter ego of the demon Dodge, created using the Identity Key. He was the central villain of Locke & Key season 2, played by celebrated young artist Griffin Gluck (Just Go With It, Private Practice, American School). The role gives Gluck the perfect opportunity to demonstrate his skill as a ruthless antagonist. Since Locke and Key, Gluck took on a lead role in the Freeform series Cruel Summer as Luke.
