Deadpool & Wolverine: Release Date, Story, Trailer & Everything We Know
Marvel Studios is making Deadpool 3 as part of the MCU. Here's everything we know about the R-rated sequel starring Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson.
The TVA Mural In Deadpool & Wolverine Trailer Confirms Loki's Tragic Ending
Deadpool & Wolverine Seemingly Follows Loki Season 2
The first trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine had many connections to other Marvel projects, and one of them was none other than Loki season 2. As noted by @Laufeyson4eva on Twitter, a mural of Yggdrasil can be seen at the TVA's headquarters, teasing when Deadpool & Wolverine takes place and giving an even more tragic twist to Loki's MCU fate.
Yggdrasil is the multiverse tree that Loki created at the end of season 2, holding all the strands of the different multiversal branches. Based on the mural, it seems like Deadpool & Wolverine's story takes place after Loki season 2.
The Deadpool & Wolverine Yggdrasil mural makes Loki's ending sadder due to a confirmation. In the Disney+ series, it seemed like Loki's fate would be eternal, with the character destined to be alone at the Citadel at the End of Time forever, holding the multiverse together. Now, the Deadpool & Wolverine trailer seemingly confirms that stance, as the Yggdrasil mural features an infinity sign at its center, confirming the infinite nature of Loki's new role in the MCU. It seems like Hiddleston's Loki is really destined to be alone for the rest of time.

Did The Deadpool 3 Trailer Secretly Reveal A Deadpool Variant NOT Played By Ryan Reynolds!?
Ryan Reynolds is back as Wade Wilson in Deadpool & Wolverine, but he might not be the only actor playing a variant of him in the movie's new trailer.
If Deadpool & Wolverine Takes Place After Loki Season 2, Why Does The TVA Want Deadpool?
Deadpool Should Have A Very Different Introduction To The TVA Compared To Loki's
The presence of the Yggdrasil mural at the TVA indicates that Deadpool & Wolverine's events happen after Loki season 2's ending. That creates a major question, as it would not make sense for the TVA to be hunting Deadpool, given the organization stopped going after diverging timelines and characters to prune by the end of the series. Early theories about the TVA's role in Deadpool & Wolverine revolved around the character having messed with time travel at the end of Deadpool 2, leading to the TVA hunting Reynolds' Wade Wilson down.
A more recent theory for the movie has gained traction among MCU fans in the past few months. The Deadpool & Wolverine theory claims that the TVA would be recruiting several important heroes from all over the multiverse for Avengers: Secret Wars. The Deadpool & Wolverine trailer ed that theory, with Matthew Macfadyen's Paradox seemingly recruiting Deadpool to help the TVA, similar to how Owen Wilson's Mobius M. Mobius recruited Tom Hiddleston's Loki.
While Deadpool seems to be recruited by the TVA, the anti-hero is also seen killing some of its Minute Men in the Deadpool & Wolverine trailer, raising more questions.
How Deadpool & Wolverine Can Set Up Loki's Return In Avengers: Secret Wars
Loki's Time In The MCU Might Not Be Over
Loki could be Doctor Doom's replacement for Avengers: Secret Wars. The MCU is known not to adapt comic book stories exactly as they played out, and with Doctor Doom still to debut in the MCU, it is possible that the role he played in the 2015 Marvel Comics event that inspires 2027's Avengers: Secret Wars could fall to Loki. As the God of Stories, Loki's power has exponentially grown, with the character being able to hold all the different multiverse strands in place.
In Secret Wars, Doctor Doom became God Emperor Doom and created Battleworld, a land made of several Marvel Comics locations, with multiverse versions of characters inhabiting it. Doom's connection to Loki comes from the two characters' powers and their respective thrones. In the comics, Doom's throne was in the middle of the Yggdrasil, the same multiversal tree which Loki has created. A possible multiverse collapse could see Loki creating Battleworld in order to save the remaining Marvel characters, not rule over them like Doom, which would be the perfect payoff to Loki season 2 and Deadpool & Wolverine's Loki tease.
