Jonathan Majors denies rumors that he appears as Kang the Conqueror in Marvel Studios' new Disney+ series Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

It was previously announced that Lovecraft Country star Jonathan Majors would play Kang the Conqueror in the MCU. His addition was confirmed by Marvel Studios in late 2020, and the major Marvel villain officially has an appearance booked for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Fans have speculated that Kang could also play a role in Loki since the character's place in the MCU future was solidified. This was mainly due to the Disney+ series exploring the multiverse and the Time Variance Authority, which both are good building blocks for a multiverse conqueror who likes to mess with time.

According to Jonathan Majors, though, he doesn't appear as Kang in Loki. The actor recently spoke to Variety about his involvement in HBO's hit series Lovecraft Country and what is next for his career. This included Majors talking about his history with the MCU as an observer before talk turned to what role he will play. When the outlet asked him if fans will see him as Kang in Loki, he denied the rumors and said, "I have no idea what you’re talking about."

The expectation that Kang will appear in Loki will likely remain high, even with Majors' denial. There weren't any rumors that Majors was on the set of the show, but he was cast well before Marvel needed to get him for Ant-Man 3. It's possible Majors is telling the truth and won't make an appearance in the MCU's current Disney+ series. However, he wouldn't be able to say otherwise without presumably violating Marvel's notoriously strict non-disclosure agreements and spoiling a potential surprise for Loki.

Majors' denial also comes on the heels of fans further piecing together how Kang the Conqueror could fit into Loki. Many viewers point out how one of the Time Keepers in the first episode somewhat resembles Kang and Majors. Meanwhile, the revelation that Gugu Mbatha-Raw plays Judge Renslayer - a character closely tied to Kang in the comics - gives Loki one firm connection to him. If Kang does ultimately appear in Loki, the question that fans might be best asking themselves before then is what version of the character's complicated comics history it will be.
