Tom Hiddleston explains why he loved producing and acting in Time Variance Authority (TVA) intervened and apprehended this alternate version of Loki. He is given the chance to bring down another Loki variant who is posing a serious threat to the Sacred Timeline but ends up discovering bigger forces at play.

Before Loki debuted on the streamer, the series was already one of the more anticipated projects that Marvel planned for Phase 4. The series gave a new lease of life to Loki, explained all the time-related shenanigans, and set the stage for the arrival of the major MCU Phase 4 villain, Kang the Conqueror, but also ushered in the highly-anticipated multiverse in the most unexpected fashion. And as an executive producer, Tom Hiddleston had a hand in concocting all these impressive plotlines.

While answering questions on Tumblr, Loki star Tom Hiddleston recounted how his experience of helping to produce the series trumped his love for acting. He has discovered that though the chances of being creative while filming are there, they are very limited. But with Loki, as he was also on board as an executive producer, he got to contribute to creating the story and crafting its characters from the very beginning.

It was a privilege because I love acting. But helping to produce it meant actually being in the room helping to kind of create the story, create the tone, think about the scripts, think about where the character was going, where these -- inventing new character, bringing new characters into the story. What I loved is that when you're filming something, you often don't have the time to -- there's always time for some invention, but often, it's about working together with every department to bring the thing to life. But in helping to produce it, I was invited to conversations much, much earlier, where you can all sit around a table and have long conversations dreaming and imagining and wondering and asking what if. And what if Loki did this? And what if Loki did that? Or what if the TVA was this? So yeah, I felt really, really lucky to be part of that.

Loki and Sylvie preparing to fight.

As it has been confirmed that Loki will be getting a second season, Tom Hiddleston is all set to do it again. He revealed that “deep, deep discussions” for season 2 have already begun and assured that it will have far more surprising twists than Season 1. Being the harbinger of the multiverse and Kang the Conqueror, the series has the potential for a lot more than it explored in Season 1 and Hiddleston is pretty excited about the new plotlines they will get to map out.

Season 1 ended with Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) killing Jonathan Majors’ He Who Remains. This allowed countless branch timelines that he has been keeping under control to grow at an alarming rate thus triggering the multiverse. While no further information for Loki season 2 has been released, it is highly probable that Kang the Conqueror will debut on the series long before he lands as the prime villain in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania and will set into motion the multiversal chaos that has been promised in Doctor Strange 2.
