The Lord of the Rings' Frodo and Sam are two of the most iconic friends to come out of any series. They made quite the pair and together managed to defeat all of the odds. That being said, sometimes you have to question the logic behind their reasoning.

What better way to do that, than through a series of memes? ittedly not every meme is a direct reference or quote from the movie, but they all fit our two characters shockingly well. Here are ten of our favorite logic memes.

Going to Mordor Alone

LOTR Logic Alone

Sure Frodo, you're totally going to Mordor alone. Only, you know, not. Because Sam is coming along no matter what you do. Apparently, that still fits the definition of alone to Sam, but given how he still called Frodo master and was inclined to give Frodo all of the credit, this actually makes quite a lot of sense.

Still, you can't help but laugh at this simple statement. It's so perfectly contradictory and does a delightful job of showing Sam's loyalty, despite all of Frodo's best efforts to leave him and everyone else behind.

Bodyguard Or Gardener?

LOTR Logic Bodygaurd

We can see why people might assume that Sam was Frodo's bodyguard. He essentially tried to act like one, at times. He was determined to never leave the man alone, especially during risky situations. He would have gladly taken a hit for Frodo, had the situation called for it, and he was eternally loyal.

All the attributes of the ideal bodyguard and that's ignoring any physical presence Sam might have. So yes, we can understand the assumption. It's certainly an easier conclusion to jump to than gardener.

Dressing Like An Orc

LOTR Logic Dressing Like An Orc

Desperate times call for desperate measures, and there was no time more desperate than the moment when Frodo and Sam had to find a way inside Mordor. To be fair, nobody had really made any plans for this final stage. But who would have thought that dressing like orcs would have gotten them anywhere?

Sometimes the simplest plans really are the best ones. Even if they did face a complication...or two...along the way.

Go Home

LOTR Logic Go Home

Yeah...we've got to agree with this meme here. We know that Frodo was getting seriously influenced by the ring and all, but it seems pretty awful to ditch your friend so late in the game. Especially in favor of somebody that was knowingly stalking the group.

At least we know that there are other people out there that are concerned with this little bit of treatment here. Sam, you keep on being the best that you are.

Master

LOTR Logic Master

While we're discussing the relationship between Sam and Frodo, let's talk about the names used between these two. Yes, Sam was originally Frodo's gardener, and thus an employee. But don't you think, at some point along their dangerous trek, that they become something more than that?

Perhaps then, it's not unreasonable to hope that Sam would be able to call Frodo something other than "master." We're just going to go ahead and assume that Sam was sticking to habit here, in a world that was otherwise very unfamiliar to him.

Not Again

LOTR Logic One More Step

This is one of those memes that gets funnier the more you look at it. Back when Frodo and Sam first left the Shire, Sam felt inclined to point out the exact moment they traveled farther than he had ever gone. Relatively speaking, it wasn't all that far.

Also, technically speaking, every step beyond that point would officially be the farthest he's ever gone...but we're grateful that he didn't feel the need to point this out again and again in the novel (or movie, if that's your preference).

Doesn't Get Much Credit

LOTR Logic Sam

To be honest, Sam didn't get all of the credit that he deserved. He hauled all of the equipment, did all of the cooking, literally carried Frodo at one point, saved his master (as mentioned above) and so much more. Yet most people first think of Frodo when it comes to being the one to save the day (and of course, Frodo should get credit).

It's nice to see that so many people (well, memes) feel this way about the series. It would appear that the world agrees that Sam was the unsung hero of the series.

Just a Bit of Seasoning

LOTR Logic Seasoning

This meme did a great job of pointing out something that many of us might have overlooked. Why on earth did Sam pack seasoning? Sure, it could potentially save a meal made on the go – but is it worth the extra weight. Which actually raises a question, how much seasoning did he bring, and exactly how much weight did it add up to?

One thing is for sure; no matter how much seasoning was packed, there's no way Gollum had any idea what type of seasoning it is.

What's Taters?

LOTR Never Heard of Taters

The jokes revolving around this scene are absolutely endless. That said, this may well be one of the best yet. Sam and Gollum have had a tenuous relationship, at best, and that's really what makes this whole interaction so amusing.

Gollum was so hilariously confused – and then repulsed – by the idea of potatoes, while Sam could do nothing but wish for their sudden and magical appearance in the stew. So yes, we believe that Sam would have potentially reacted this way if this had been a trend of the time.

One Does Not Simply...

LOTR One DOES Simply Walk

People have been quoting "one does not simply walk into Mordor" like there's no tomorrow. However, how often do we directly compare this statement to the fact that one can, apparently, walk right into Mordor?

Our little hobbits perfectly proved that one can, indeed, walk into Mordor. We're certain that Boromir would have been endlessly frustrated by this fact – something this meme, in particular, does an excellent job of showing. It's a shame we never got to see his reaction to all of this.
