Players may wish to relocate their settlement for any number of reasons. For example, they may want to be in a more strategic location or near a particular landmark; is an impressive tower after all. Or, maybe, they just want to be closer to their friends. Players can relocate, but there are a few steps and conditions that they must meet first.

Other Requirements to Relocate a Settlement in The Lord of the Rings: Rise to War

The Lord of the Rings Rise to War Settlement

Prior to relocating in The Lord of the Rings: Rise to War, players will also need to clear land for their new settlement. This means having nine tiles in a 3x3 formation, or a square. It’s the same size and shape as the settlement when players first begin the game. When doing this, players will need to make sure that surrounding tiles are only resource production tiles. If mountains, rivers, or major structures are directly next door, players will not be able to relocate. Though it’s not required, players will want to look for areas with Tier 1 tiles, as they are easier to conquer.

The player’s faction must also control the region. It is not possible to move to neutral regions or regions belonging to another faction. If players in a faction lose a region to an enemy faction occupying their keep, they won’t be able to relocate there. Additionally, players cannot relocate to Amon Lanc, where Dol Guldur is, because that area is where factions will eventually fight over for control of the One Ring.

The last step to relocation is to make sure all the commanders a player owns are in the settlement. They will need to recall all their armies before relocating.

To initiate the transfer, players can click the center square of the new settlement location, click build, and then Relocate. If something isn’t correct, the game will tell players which condition is not being met so they can make the necessary changes and move as quickly as possible.
