Romance meets reincarnation in Love Everlasting, the new ongoing series from Tom King and Elsa Charretier that examines the perils of being the woman cursed to always find the perfect man.

So far, the hopeless romantic Joan Peterson has been a secretary, a groupie, and a ranch hand, each of these paths ending once she reached her true love. In the second issue of Love Everlasting, her travels through time and space have brought her not just to another position as a grown woman, but to a whole new childhood as well. This new romance begins all the way from birth, making it the biggest emotional commitment (and eventual heartbreak) that Joan has had to experience so far. Elsa Charretier's art and Matt Hollingsworth's colors create a dreamy, vintage atmosphere that contrasts with the looming dread of the underlying plot while Clayton Cowles' lettering emphasizes the melodramatic tone of Tom King's self-aware script. King also hints at Joan getting more agency within her own stories as her awareness of the situation increases:

"Joan wakes into another nightmare of love. It is 1920. She is the maid and Roger is the heir to the great manor, and though it is forbidden, they are inevitably drawn together. But soon clichés begin to crumble and blood begins to spill as Joan finds her own power in 'The Hunt for Love'!"
