The official trailer has been released for Magic Mike XXL following in 2015. In the 10 years since its release, Magic Mike has amassed a large fan base and even led to a stage musical, Magic Mike Live London, and a reality TV series, Finding Magic Mike. With the release of the trailer for Magic Mike’s Last Dance, the franchise introduces new characters and a peek at Mike’s latest gig.
Channing Tatum added to his list of movies with Magic Mike XXL, which saw the male stripper group come together again for one big final performance in Myrtle Beach. The sequel was missing some characters from Magic Mike, including Matthew McConaughey’s Dallas, but most returned. The ending of Magic Mike XXL implied that the strippers would all go their separate ways again, so it can be assumed Magic Mike’s Last Dance will pick up from there. The third installment was initially confirmed by Tatum in November 2021 with few details revealed, but with the release of the first trailer, here is an update on everything we now know about Magic Mike’s Last Dance.
Magic Mike's Last Dance Cast
Channing Tatum returns as the titular Magic Mike, of course. ing him is Eternals' Salma Hayek, who took over from Thandiwe Newton after she dropped out, and Gavin Spokes. Caitlin Gerard returns as Kim, who appeared in the first Magic Mike and can be seen in the trailer for Magic Mike's Last Dance. Although the full cast has not been announced yet, audiences will be disappointed to know that Mike’s original crew will not be returning. Adam Rodriguez, who played Tito in the first two Magic Mike movies, confirmed to the New York Post that he would not be appearing and Magic Mike’s Last Dance would feature a new crop of faces.
Magic Mike's Last Dance Story Details: What We Know
The trailer continues Magic Mike's use of a great soundtrack, but the full plot of Magic Mike’s Last Dance is being kept under wraps. Still, the first teaser trailer for the movie gives a hint as to the story in the final installment. Reid Carolin, who wrote the first two Magic Mike movies, and the director of the original Magic Mike, Steven Soderbergh, have both returned for part three. The trailer shows Mike bartending, on hiatus from stripping, when he meets a wealthy socialite, played by Salma Hayek. She convinces him to return to the stage with her — this time in London.
With a whole new dance crew, a fresh location, and Salma Hayek's character appearing alongside Channing Tatum's Magic Mike in these shows, it seems there is a lot of pressure on this London production to perform well. In the trailer, Hayek’s character is seen arguing that her show cannot be shut down again. According to the Warner Bros. trailer description, the character has her own agenda, which makes Magic Mike’s job even harder to pull off.
