Along with the many updates Final Fantasy 14 has received in recent patches, new and rare items like the Magicked Card Mount have also been introduced for you to earn. Mounts are easily one of the most sought-after items in the game as something you can show off as an extraordinary find. Even with a grind, this achievement makes any effort more than worth it in the end.

Patch 5.55 introduced three new mounts for players to unlock: Al-iklil, the Magicked Card, and the raptor-like Deinonychus. The second new mount, the Magicked Card, can only be obtained by completing a lengthy process. Rest assured, you'll look amazing riding on top of a giant card that acts like a magic carpet, so do everything in your power to unlock this rare mount in Final Fantasy 14.

How To Unlock The Magicked Card Mount In Final Fantasy 14

Compete And Win In Games Of Triple Triad

magicked-card-ff14-2

Unlike the Rising Phoenix Mount in FF14 and other mounts earned through quests or raids, the only way to unlock the Magicked Card Mount is to collect Triple Triad playing cards 1 through 312. Triple Triad was a popular mini-game in Final Fantasy 8 added to this MMO with Patch 2.51. This card game becomes accessible when you complete the "It Could Happen To You" questline and unlock the Manderville Gold Saucer area.

Once you can enter the Gold Saucer, you can visit the card square inside and meet the Triple Triad Master, an NPC who gives you your first five cards for the mini-game after the "Triple Triad Trial" quest. Doing this mission lets you participate in Triple Triad battles, where you can defeat other NPCs to collect new cards. You must collect a variety of cards that exist to eventually gain the rare Magicked Card Mount.

Defeating random players of Triple Triad around the Manderville Gold Saucer will help you collect more of the cards you need. Rare cards are offered as prizes for winning tournaments of Triple Triad, so try to win as many of these competitions as you can.

Triple Triad in FF14 is a complex game with many rules you'll have to learn to collect every card you need. You should consider making three types of decks to adapt to any enemy during this mini-game and secure your victory each time. An All-Purpose deck, an Ascension deck, and a Reverse deck should be able to counter a variety of decks your opponents may use, in individual matches and tournaments alike.

Once you have all 312 Triple Triad cards, head over to the Manderville Gold Saucer Attendant, a character you can find towards the start of the area. This NPC gives you "The Adventurer with All the Cards" quest, where all you have to do is simply wait by the entrance to the Card Square. Completing this quest will allow you to get the fantastic Magicked Card Mount in Final Fantasy 14 that you can float around on to impress other players.
