Scarlet Witch & Quicksilver #4 – written by Steve Orlando, with art by Lorenzo Tammetta – reunited the recently returned Magneto with with his children Wanda and Pietro. Even in death, a letter from Max caused a rift between the two siblings, with Scarlet Witch burning it before her twin brother had a chance to read the hurtful contents.
While he’d never intended the letter to be sent or read, he still believes what he wrote: Scarlet Witch would be safer if Quicksilver had never returned after his Magneto killed him in House of M.

Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver have been inseparable since birth, and part of them is always tied together, even when they're on different teams, living their own lives.
Max's words are harsh, but a different bond with Wanda, and he has seen the lengths she's willing to go to undo mistakes she has made. On M-Day, she used her magic to decimate the mutant population and caused mass devastation. It was done at Pietro's misguided urging, giving their father a front-row seat to just how dangerous their co-dependence can be. It's little wonder he'd believe she was better off without it.

Though Pietro tends to get there faster than his sister, it isn't as one-sided as Magneto makes it out to be, clearly evidenced by Wanda partially unleashing Chthon when she believed her twin was in danger. As Wanda tells Max, they do "the impossible" together, good or bad.

Although Max cites that Wanda coddles her brother and brings out his worst impulses, he fails to see the good they do. They can cause great harm for one another, and if the Wizard and his Angel are to believe then the very universe could be at risk for it, but they also protect and believe in each other with an unmatched ferocity. They have each been their twin's reason to continue living, and they chose to become heroes together. Magneto believes Quicksilver is Scarlet Witch's biggest threat, but he is also her other half, balance, and counter.
