Fans of the Star Wars TV series Grogu’s real name and backstory may have been revealed in The Mandalorian season 2, that hasn’t stopped anyone from seeing him as the most adorable baby in the Star Wars franchise.

Grogu was a standout character when The Mandalorian first released, but his internet popularity really began with the iconic scene of the alien baby drinking some delicious bone broth. The adorable image was quickly turned into a meme, and the resulting internet attention meant that Disney had a huge demand for Baby Yoda merchandise. The most recent addition to the line of Grogu-themed products draws inspiration from the bone broth scene, as well as a few other iconic moments from The Mandalorian.

The new plushies were recently made available on The Mandalorian store at shopDisney, and come in four different variations referencing scenes from the show. These include Grogu meditating, munching on a frog, slurping down a bowl of squid chowder, and, of course, sipping some of that essential bone broth. Clearly, Grogu is a very food-motivated child. Each plushie also comes with a unique enameled pin featuring a cartoon illustration of Grogu in the same pose as the accompanying plushie.

Squid Plushie

While most Baby Yoda-themed merch for The Mandalorian seems just as adorable as this, the new plushies are much kinder to the alien child than some other iterations. Just last summer, Disney and Hasbro partnered to create a Bop It! toy that required s to punch Baby Yoda on the head in order to win the game. Clearly, the fan reaction to the idea of Grogu-abuse was not very positive, but the weird novelty of the toy was also potentially a driving force in the toy’s sales.

For those seeking a less violent way to bring Grogu into their home, these plushies seem to be a delightful option. Even though Luke Skywalker took Grogu at the end of The Mandalorian season 2, Disney will likely continue to pump Baby Yoda merchandise out given the character's popularity. As fans wait for more news about The Mandalorian season 3 and look for answers to their questions from the season 2 finale, they can at least wait with a soft, Force-sensitive friend at their side.
