Din Djarin says the only way is the Way of the Mandalore in Star Wars franchise.
Thankfully the Star Wars Rebels, an animated show that had its own Mandalorian in the main cast. But what's interesting is that the Mandalorians in both of those shows significantly differ from The Mandalorian's Din Djarin. He doesn't follow the same laws as them and he doesn't understand the nuance in their history. All he knows is that he follows the Way of the Mandalore, an ancient custom that has been long forgotten.
In addition to being the name of the planet, Mandalore (or Mand'alor) also refers to the leader of the Mandalorian people. It's unclear who the very first Mandalore was in canon, but the earliest known leader is Mandalore the Great, who waged an ancient war against the Jedi Order, the same war the Armorer told Din Djarin about in The Mandalorian season 1 finale. Since then, there have been three Mandalores in Star Wars canon: Tarre Vizsla (the first and only Mandalorian Jedi), Pre Vizsla (a character voiced by Jon Favreau in Clone Wars), and Bo-Katan Kryze, who united the Mandalorians against the Empire during the Galactic Civil War.
Given that the Mandalorians are a warrior culture who fight among themselves as much as they fight others, it's rare to have a Mandalore govern the entire people across all of Mandalorian Space. Several people attempted to become Mandalore in canon, namely Gar Saxon, but they failed when they couldn't achieve control. Furthermore, there's one thing Gar Saxon was missing that Bo-Katan had when she temporarily became Mandalore: the Darksaber, which was brought into live-action in The Mandalorian season 1 when Moff Gideon was shown wielding it.
Beyond being Star Wars' only black lightsaber, the Darksaber has a unique history in the franchise; it's the lightsaber that was created and used by Tarre Vizsla. Upon his death, the Darksaber was kept in the Jedi Temple for safe keeping, because Vizsla was a Jedi. But the Mandalorians at the time felt that the Darksaber belongs with Vizsla's people - not the Jedi - so they broke in and stole it. Since then, the Darksaber has been ed down through the Vizsla family but has also been used as a symbol of the Mandalore. Whoever wields it can control the planet Mandalore and the Mandalorians - that's why Bo-Katan is after it in The Mandalorian season 2.
