Update (6/12/2021 3:57 EDT): Since the publication of this article, Mario + Rabbids: Sparks Of Hope has been confirmed at E3's Ubisoft Foreward.

The Ubisoft properties ed forces to great effect in 2017’s Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, and fans are itching to get back into the minigame-filled frolic on the Switch.

Rumors of a new Mario + Rabbids crossover game have been spreading all year, Donkey Kong-based expansion in 2018. With that success, it was only a matter of time before the worlds of the Mushroom Kindom and Ubisoft's Rabbids collided once again.

A new listing on Nintendo’s website confirms that Mario + Rabbids: Spark Of Hope is indeed in the works, as uncovered by gaming rumor hound Nibel on Twitter (via Game Rant). The new game will feature Mario and friends ing forces with some Rabbid doppelgangers on a space adventure, with the presence of a Rabbid Rosalina and Rabbid Luma hinting at a connection to 2007’s Super Mario Galaxy.

This leak comes right before Nintendo and Ubisoft are set to take the stage at this year's four-day-long E3 live stream event, which promises plenty of exciting reveals from both. Ubisoft will to focus on new games during the event, it's remained tight-lipped on whether or not the rumored Nintendo Switch Pro will finally have an official confirmation, though that hasn't stopped fans from speculating about getting their first look at the updated hardware at E3.

The first Mario/Rabbids crossover sold well on the Switch, so it makes sense for Nintendo and Ubisoft to jump back to the party well in this new sequel. So far, Mario + Rabbids: Sparks Of Hope has yet to be officially announced, but it’s possible that more details will emerge at this weekend’s E3 event.
