Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is receiving a massive DLC pack that will release throughout this year and into 2023, titled the "Booster Course ", which will feature 48 remastered courses from previous Mario Kart games. The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course will be released in six waves, with each wave containing eight new tracks. Releasing on the Nintendo Switch in 2017, and based on Mario Kart 8 that released for the Wii U in 2014, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is still wildly popular, and these new remastered tracks are sure to add to the game's already impressive lifespan.

The next Mario Kart game is still reportedly in active development. Though, with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe getting DLC until the end of 2023, players should not expect to potentially see Mario Kart 9 until after the Booster Course DLC is completed. The Booster Course will include courses from Super Mario Kart, Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Mario Kart 64, Mario Kart: Double Dash, Mario Kart DS, Mario Kart Wii, Mario Kart 7, and Mario Kart Tour.

In wave one of the Booster Course , there will be the Golden Dash Cup and the Lucky Cat Cup. The Golden Dash cup includes Paris Promenade from Mario Kart Tour, Toad Circuit from the 3DS, Choco Mountain from N64, and the beloved Coconut Mall from Mario Kart Wii. The Lucky Cat Cup will include Tokyo Blur from Mario Kart Tour, Shroom Ridge from the 3DS, Sky Garden from the GBA, and Ninja Hideaway also from Mario Kart Tour. Many players are still excited to see the new tracks that Mario Kart 9 may add, but these remastered courses are still a welcome addition to Mario Kart 8.
