In 2016, the MCU got a massive boost when Peter Parker/Spider-Man ed the fray in Captain America: Civil War. The wildly popular character has been everywhere ever since. That includes two solo movies in 2017 and 2019, as well as appearances in both Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
Thanks to notable ones from Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home have actually been forgotten over time.
Bookem Woodbine
Although Shocker might be one of the most recognizable Spider-Man villains, he's not one who has enough of an interesting backstory or personality for his own film. So, he was a throwaway smaller baddie in Spider-Man: Homecoming. After the first Shocker is killed, Herman Schultz takes over.
Shultz is played by Bookem Woodbine. He's a veteran actor who has really shined in recent years with this role as well as when he scored an Emmy nomination in Fargo. Woodbine has also shown up on Saving Grace, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, and Queen & Slim.
Michael Chernus
The Tinkerer has gained some notoriety in recent years. For one thing, the character was made female and was the main antagonist of the well-received Spider-Man: Miles Morales video game. However, the Tinkerer came to the big screen several years prior.
In Spider-Man: Homecoming, Michael Chernus took on the role of Phineas Mason/The Tinkerer. He was mostly around to come up with weapons and devices using the Chitauri technology. Chernus is probably most known for playing Piper's brother Cal in Orange is the New Black and recently appearing in Prodigal Son.
Remy Hii
To be fair, Remy Hii is probably the easiest actor to on this list. He has a pretty prominent role in Spider-Man: Far From Home, which only just released a couple of years ago. In it, Hii portrayed Brad Davis, a student at Peter's school who became more attractive during the Blip.
He vies for the affections of MJ with Peter, though he never really has a chance. This talented actor has become a more notable star in recent years thanks to roles in Neighbours and Crazy Rich Asians. Of note, Hii was in his early 30s when he played a teen in this movie.
Garcelle Beauvais
Considering the fact that her main appearance in Spider-Man: Homecoming happens right at a crucial time, it's easy to overlook Garcelle Beauvais in it. She shows up right after the big surprise reveal that Adrian Toomes/The Vulture is Liz's father.
That's all most audience recall from that scene. However, Beauvais is a great part of it, playing Liz's mother Doris, who is oblivious to what her loving husband does in his free time. Beauvais is a screen veteran, having had a starring role on The Jamie Foxx Show and a long stint on NYPD Blue.
Tyne Daly
If you want to know just how iconic Tyne Daly is as an actor, all one has to see is that she has pretty notable billing in Spider-Man: Homecoming despite only being in the prologue. She shows up right in the aftermath of the events of 2012's The Avengers.
Daly portrayed Anne Marie Hoag, the head of the Department of Damage Control. She's there to take over the cleanup at the behest of Tony Stark and the U.S. government. Daly has a long list of credits that helped her nab a Tony and six Emmy Awards, including four for Cagney and Lacey.
Hannibal Buress
It doesn't matter what Hannibal Buress appears in, he's almost guaranteed to steal the show. He's just that funny. His scene-stealing moments are all over Spider-Man: Homecoming, though the part is still insignificant enough that some might have forgotten it.
That's especially true since Buress didn't return for the sequel. He played Coach Wilson, who gets some great lines while Peter is in gym class and detention. Hilariously, Buress hired a lookalike to attend the film's premiere posed as him. Buress is consistently great on Broad City and The Eric Andre Show.
Selenis Leyva
Similar to Michael Chernus, Selenis Leyva was in Netflix's Orange is the New Black. In fact, her prominent role there as Gloria Mendoza kind of started a trend where she was popping up everywhere. That included roles in Veep, Saved by the Bell, and Diary of a Future President, to name a few.
Like a lot of the adults in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Leyva has a role as one of the teachers at the school. She plays Ms. Warren, whose most notable scene was when she caught Ned being Peter's "guy in the chair" instead of attending the dance.
Kenneth Choi
The situation regarding Kenneth Choi is one of the most interesting little tidbits about the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Choi is a veteran actor with credits in hits like Sons of Anarchy and The Wolf of Wall Street. However, he was also in Captain America: The First Avenger.
There, he played Jim Morita, a member of the Howling Commandos. He reprised the role in a fun episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Choi is also in Spider-Man: Homecoming, where he played Principal Morita. When he talks to Peter in his office, there's a picture on his desk of Jim, who he is a descendant of.
Logan Marshall-Green
On his own, Logan Marshall-Green doesn't have all that much to do in Spider-Man: Homecoming. He is the aforementioned first Shocker, Jackson Brice. He uses the weapon and disrespects Adrian Toomes, leading to Toomes killing him. It's almost a forgotten role.
The thing is, Logan Marshall-Green is actually a very prolific and notable actor on his own. Along with shows like The O.C. and 24, Marshall-Green was the lead in two of the more well-received films in recent memory, The Invitation and Upgrade.
Jennifer Connelly
As is the case with Kenneth Choi, this is one of the cooler MCU bits of knowledge to have. Jennifer Connelly isn't seen in Spider-Man: Homecoming but she is heard. She is the voice of Karen, the artificial intelligence in Peter's suit who communicates with him.
What makes this so cool is that Connelly is married to Paul Bettany, who voiced Tony Stark's famous A.I. named J.A.R.V.I.S. (and now plays Vision). This worked as a sweet way to connect the married couple with similar roles. Connelly has a long history on screen from Requiem for a Dream to Hulk to A Beautiful Mind to Alita: Battle Angel and so much more.
